I have a nasty feeling these are actually leather, believe it or not.

Might be wrong, but I seem to remember the suede drops were Friar items.

They are the cloth in DS is called velvet. Accorsing to my Catacombs guide these should exist but can't say I've ever seen them

Absolutely, I agree. People gain enjoyment in DAOC from a lot of different means. It just makes me to hear so many people dismiss items/artifacts they clearly want, simply because common knowledge says it's impossible to get.

Yes you must.
Prob for me is. I dont have a big guild/alliance to do like Erinys/Jacinas just for me. So I rely on public raids where I might get lucky in a roll.(yeah right)
But I also like to play = Not committing to an Erinys raid where I have to do it 14 times so everyone gets one. and if I cant due to RL or whatever I dont get it. I accept this and therefore try to see if I can make a good template without these items. This dont mean I never try to get them, it just means its not a very high priority and hence I dont wanna build a template over them.
1 thing is committing to help a stranger for ½ hour for some Item he wants, another is helping several hours with Jacinas(ok with ppl you know, but how many does that with total strangers?

Dressing toons with RoX templetes IS hard and can very frustrating, escpecialy if ur char is abit PvE unfriendly. Putting together farm grps (for scrolls) or arti grps needs a very good leader or they will end in disaster.Many people dont have the time to Read-up on stuff, play around with the arti and then go back to the drawing board. I am lucky in having evul PvE toons (BB, ML9 matter cabby etc) and some superb in-game friends with equaly good pve toons AND TOA IS STILL THE MOST HORRIBLE MUST-DO, TIME-CONSUMING SHIT THAT MYTHIC EVER CAME UP WITH. Needed to get that off my chest
