Yeah, a lot of things are a valid playstyle. For example standing still as a SM, pressing MoC on incoming next to a BG pet and dying horribly cause it didn't work out for some reason is valid, yet I call it idiotic. Attacking someone while outnumbering him severly I call not challenging.

This chickenshit carebear "game allows me to do so, so I do it"-attitude is best practiced by inferior opponents, but hey if you don't have quality do it with quantity. For me the thrill comes from good and challenging fights not from hiding behind an enemy realm argument.

well hey, everyone have different idea of whats a challenge or whats fun. You may have an extremly ugly yellow sweater that i think you should throw in the trash right now. But you love it. Would you throw that away cause a random guy whines on you and sais its ugly as feck:p?
Also, im not so sure about some tanks nowadays tbh( not saying im any good myself) But the way the game is designed and balanced you can spec way that alows you to beat almost anyone in a 1 vs 1...very challenging^^ You use all you can and the other dude just stands there toe to toe and block everything you swing. If thats all you gotta do( spec a certain way) to beat oponents im not sure its any harder to play then a caster tbh..
Also the way fights are condoned these days only as duel almost, you dont even need any reaction skills anymore lol..everyone gives enuogh time with their bowing and ways to initiate a fight.

And for the chicken shit realm argument you were talking about.
I dont care how anyone else plays the game, but since you stick your chin out, how was it challenging to steamroll me with ur fg 1 week ago outside of crau? You were first in there to swing widly. Normally i wouldnt look twice cause i expect that to happend, but when i see someone talking about honor and challenge i have to react a bit to it. Also heard other hib soloers say you dont always act so honorable.
If you stick ur chin out...you better have a clean record urself, if not just shove it and enjoy the game like it is with the rest of us:)
over and out...

I usually stand by when the FG I am in is killing solo'ers and when it's know people like Gotmagi or Eliten I even insist to not attack them. I remeber ganking you and after realizing it's you I felt sorry about it as I know you as a hard opponent to fight solo.

When I am alone, I _never_ attack anyone (casters excluded) not on 100% health or in combat unless it's someone like Dwera.

Well f*cking good for you. So everyone who doesn't play this computer game as a challenge but as a relaxing pass-time (usually after working their asses off during the day and having enough challenges in their real lives) has a chickenshit carebear attitude? What a twat. Hope for your sake you one day wake up and smell the coffee of real life and realise not everything revolves around pixels and sucking your own e-peen.

nope, because im not going to keep a list on my wall of people that "dont add" then stop and read it before encountering every fight and clicking on peoples names.

That list gonna be more than short enough to remember imo, no notes required ;)

On a more serious note tho, having a circle of people you respect more than others is pretty common and isn't really hard to do at all.

So what? Because you get stressed in your real life by your job or god knows what it's okay for you to relax by ruining the gaming experience of others by ganking them?

Haha. Next.

When you are in a group everyone is fair game when you feel like - yet you moan about people adding when you admit you have done it yourself..

This is the problem - you can't have it both ways dude, and noting you admit to rolling solo'ers yourself in a FG then you really have no right to come on here and moan at anyone else for adding do you.

Well how else do you describe someone with a desperate need to make themselves feel superior by wtfpwning in a computer game? Someone coming on here belittling others because of how they play a game is f*ck all to do with preferred playstyle, it's about Manisch being a ****. Hilarious how you think it's fine for someone with the same play preference as you to talk shit to people but it's not ok to give him some back. As so often, f*cking hypocrisy of the highest order.

I don't get overly stressed by work or anything else - but I seek my "challenge" where it counts, in real life. So I come on here to relax and chill out and there's some jumped up **** like you who really believes it's fine to belittle people who play this game as a GAME and for fun. Fucking wake up man - don't be a **** all your life. I dunno, get a job, girlfriend, life, whatever it is you're lacking that gives you this desperate need to put other people down over some pixels.

did i hit a nerve? .. lol bracken u seriously need to calm down .. seems this matters alot more to you .. "the casual player who plays for relaxation" than it does to the most hardcore gamers :p .. anyways .. im not saying im part of any crew or anything .. but in this matter i completly think its bollox to go around naming ppl .. putting labels on them etc .. coz the one out for a huge e-peen seems to be the ones accusing others of trying to ..

Which bit can't you grasp? It's fuck all to do with which playstyle "crew" someone belongs to - it's about their attitude to other people. Read the thread and even you should be able to see the difference.

Show me where I belittle anyone because of how they choose to play the game. It's about attitude, nothing else. Manisch f*cked up a good thread with his attitude - it's hilarious that you are defending him while trying to come across as this "peace out" kind of bloke. Something which you and I both know is bollox coming from you.

I know it's a game and I don't see a problem with calling a certain type of players in a MMORPG chickenshit carebears. Carebears and MMORPGs go hand in hand. You feel adressed by this term and ask me to get a girl friend, job or life because I put people down with this term? Yeah, right. Look at your great amount of social skills you show us here. I atleast try to keep it within the boundaries of the game, I am quite sure that most of the people whose style of play I don't like are very okay people.

I am an average player but I for certain know that there are players that will not compete even with me because all they do is chickenshit carebear zerging or whatever and they are not interested in becoming a better player. Accepting their existance and and giving them a name doesn't mean I lack social skills.

If you like to relax by outnumbering your opponents, do so, just don't expect any sympathy from me for it. I am not here to take your right away to play like you want to, I just give it a name.

No, I didn't fuck up a good thread.

If it takes you 24 pages to get offended by me saying Svartmetall is a carbear beceause he said that "DAOC is a realm war game." while excluding other options to play, oh well, I can't help you.

Best is to find 50 realmies, camp a place and kill the same enemy realm player over and over again.

It's war mates.

I was talking to someone about this the other day... it seems to have come to a point where people who used to play together and have fun go to bitching at eachother.
I'll call it the "high-RR"-syndrome.

I've seen many people fall to this "disease". I've been in rvr so many times with relative new players or at least new rvr-ers. All is fine, good fights, good laughs (zerg fights AND fg fights) and then there's the turning point when they get a bit of a decent RR and some even discover the use of mirc - and down go all the values you used to love about those people as they start treating their 'friends' shit because they started thinking they are so much better then anyone else. The attitude has born where they'll only invite people who got such and such skill to wtfpwn an enemy group with in their 8 vs 8 ickle group.
Old friends you used to have a laugh with and enjoy fights with... who were they again? o yeah, they are the 'adding-non-leet'-people who we'll just ignore from now on.

It sums it about up really with this sentence:
The game has evolved (sp?) to something where you can hardly find any 'sane' minds at high RR's.

Do i sound bitter? Hmm maybe yes, because it's a shame to see people fall for the same bit day in day out. And the most annoying thing of all is - it's from those people you can expect the most abuse when you come across them in rvr and who seem to have forgotten how they used to play and actually enjoy it.

Well that's it - you don't. You turned a reasonable discussion on playstyles into an opportunity to belittle people who play the game as they always have done. That's not about the game, that's about attitude to other human beings playing the game. Because YOU decided at some point during your time playing the game to become competitive you also decided to use that to put down those who didn't. That is pitiful and shows that as a person you're really not up to much.

this is just utterly wrong imo .. :] .. there are still alot of highRR ppl amongst the ppl that enjoy zergs/sieges .. though one reason for changing their playstyle at higher RR is that they get bored of what they have been doing all the time .. i mean ..after sieging yer way to rr7+ one might think that it would get boring doing the same thing .. and maybe alot of ppl at this point want a different challenge? .. or something else to keep the satisfyed within the game? ..

and yes .. i can speak for myself on this and say that i actually enjoy playing the game in a challenging playstyle .. and i dislike playing in sieges .. although a zerg might be fun once every 6 months .. :p

you were right about something though .. ppl do tend to change their playstyle at higher RR .. but i cant say that i have changed my personality or anything .. and i can speak for the ppl i have played with all the time also .. and they havent changed either .. though the most of us have played together in the same group from rr3-4 or something .. so mebbe that dun apply on us? .. shrugs.
