Got the installers back tomorrow to finish the networking of the solar system, I made a fuckup on the day and it failed but I have tested the new SSID/VLAN using a phone and a laptop and all good.

Cannot remember if I mentioned it but with my install the whole house is basically on a UPS now with zero outage failover. That will be properly tested when the dumb meter is swapped out for a smart meter in October. When the system is fully networked I can then check on the runtime based on load and I suspect I will be purchasing more batteries.

More news tomorrow after they have been and gone along with, hopefully, some nice images.

Good stuff, nice images should also show what you've got :)

Scaffolding is still up, they are due next week to take it all down.

Got a neighbour to take this pic of the roof panels

You got some dodgy looking cunt poking around in your back garden, mate!!
I know and he had his sidekick with him but as that cunt is so fucking short the fence hid him.

Cor just been adding/enabling the solar system into Home Assistant. Fucking hell so many things to look at and play with.

Really impressed with all this stuff and tomorrow will be the first day where I get a full days sun instead of only a few hours today after it was commissioned.

Here are some stats

When you finish fiddling, a component breakdown would be interesting.

That is the system I would get if I was starting again.
I am very impressed with it and like I said before the biggest selling factor is that it works like a UPS so when it switches modes I do not notice any servers crashing.

Yeah, I've watched some install videos of the Sigenergy system on the YT channel of Artisan Electrics, very impressive equipment with new additions all the time.

Not expecting much generation today due to cloud and rain, looking at grid generation, I suspect all that wind in the SW yesterday has probably made its way over to the assorted offshore windfarms, thus Octopus Energy from free energy from 12:00-14:00, so I'll get the Tesla Gateway to fill the battery up during those hours.

Sounds like work @Embattle. Can it be automated?

It is announced the night before, I guess when they've an idea of the excess energy in the system, so there isn't an easy way to automate it, nor would my Tesla do it. You find out via email/app/website, and then I have to wait for the start and change the setting in the Tesla app to Backup, then press Max backup and then how many hours it will last, which can all be done remotely. If you have a cheap night rate, you can automate it since that is a regular timeframe.

A cheap night rate tariff might suit @Deebs more if he has very little being exported and a large enough battery to take the most advantage of it, a cheaper night rate often means a cheaper export rate and slightly higher day time rates.

So have you done any thinking regarding the best way to use it all?
Yeh to reduce my electrical bill whilst having all my toys turned on. I spend most of my time at home tinkering with stuff which requires electricity hence the £400 per month leccy bill. Getting that down to something more palatable is my goal.

It will come down to how much you actually end up exporting. If it is never much, then I would definitely go to a cheap nighttime rate so you can fill the batteries at night.

Don't. For a single occupant that is mind boggling and no I am not growing any plants apart from the one in my bedroom which looks like it is getting ready to leave.

Oooh, just doing some more playing and I noticed the following:

1757968506360.png

That value is attached to the inverter so I am assuming that is how much electricity the panels generated on that particular day. Now I need to find my actual consumed electricity, that should not be too hard I just need to look for mWh :(

Managed a surprising 22.9 kWh down here, if we had a turbine it would generated loads of electricity :p

I assume your inverter is added / integrated with HA, based on your screenshots.

Lookie here GitHub - flixlix/power-flow-card-plus: A power distribution card inspired by the official Energy Distribution card for Home Assistant and here GitHub - flixlix/energy-flow-card-plus: An upgraded Energy Distribution Card for Home Assistant, with added features like Individual Devices and refined UI enhancements, while maintaining the Energy Dashboard's original design.

This comes in handy if you run 3-phase - GitHub - Sese-Schneider/ha-energy-overview-card: A simple card which displays energy usage details of one or multiple entities.

Edit: You'd have to configure your Energy HA dashboard first, add the proper entities for these areas

Yes it is integrated, about to kick HA into the void. Am trying to export some data to a file using the File integration but fucking hell I need 300 brains. I have read so many guides but nothing fucking works. Need to spend some time away from HA.
