Anyobody aware of a client that will run without any extra dlls being referenced, perhaps a hybrid compile of BitchX?

Cheers,

Tom.

Hmm... are you sure? :)

**Edit** Just tried it on my home machine, it'll run OK creating dirs as it needs them, but it may need some funny dll. I'll give it a go on the campus machines tomorrow.

This may be a stupid question but why do you need a client that uses no dll's?

Kind of... The sysadmin in his infinite wisdom insists on using RM machines. Anyone who knows these will know they come complete with the most totally anal secuity system known to man. Ours are set up so that any exe that references a .dll will not be allowed to run, unless specified by the admin.

Simply renaming exes doesn't appear to work...

Such a shame that command.com is blocked too, otherwise I'd have no problems running a simple HTTP tunnel to my Linux box via SSH, from which I could irc.

Still, I'll give a mIRC a go.

I know of some IRC programs that work via a Java Applet in IE, try that.

Yeah, I've tried just about every workaround I can think of, the ports are just blocked.

I really need to work out why this HTTP tunnel doesn't work.
