Oh yeah, it'll work at the moment.

But it won't work when WON shuts down, then you'll have to launch through Steam.

(ASE told me that when it downloaded the latest filters.)

Yeah, me too. I haven't been lagging, my highest ping was about 41ish i think.

I've opened up the ports the FAQs say to and still no joy. I dunno, thought I'd try out CS1.6, after all I haven't played CS in ages, but Valve don't seem to want me to play

Okay if you all would check the steam staus page you would see that their servers have been going down all day, hence the problems updating or connecting to the network today.

I did check the status page and it cleary reads "Steam is online" and there are only 4 servers down. Surely I should be able to get some sort of connection, even if it don't work after that?

Tbh when i read the status page, the "total bandwidth" made me piss myself with laughter considering the number of CS players out there alone. So I'd say "don't count on it whipped"

Everybodies copies seem to have started working, whether Valve sent out an update over the servers or its simply because the amount of people trying to download simultaneously has decreased is a mystery though.

Worst piece of software I've ever used. Downloaded the 388mb file, click to play counterstrike and it tells me that it needs to install it..... and nothing happens.

Installed the full client + cs been waiting since 20:15 to join a server. What a total piece of shite this is. The sad thing is that they expect people to pay for it.

Ive been waiting two days to play Opposing Force offline (As in Single Player not offline as in not on the net) \o/

I think i'll sue valve for the price of my Half life CD and my retail Counter strike CD. Add on 82 minutes waiting for a slot to download it, then 2 hours actually downloading it, 15 minutes while it migrates my installation and on top of that 2 failed logins cos my account has expired 35 minutes after setting it up.


£4,000 should cover it
