I agree it does seem rather silly to take the servers down knowing (assuming that they did know) that you dont have the correct files to patch. However my feeling is they decided to take a gamble in the hope that they can get the files today.
Im sure they knew at least by yesterday (maybe sooner) that there was going to be problems, but hey who would dare say that knowing the flack GOA/Mythic would get from the European fans.
Got my SI copy yesterday and wanna PLAY, but NOOO!!!
A whole f***ing day down the drain .... but at least I got some stuff done at work today, think this was the first time since I installed daoc at work i was in time with everything .... hmmm, think ill ask my boss for a raise.
why did they bring the servers down without the files anyway? its like saying you will take all the windows out of your house and leave big holes there untill the new windows come.
The second option is to cancel the current procedure and switch the servers back to 1.54 today and wait for the missing files knowing that in this case, Shrouded will not be released today.
Just wait with the installation of SI until you have all the files and let us play 1.54 today.
Of course, we will keep you informed throughout the day.
Of course ????.... Well, do so. Nothing changed during the whole day; no information at all.
OK, maybe not EVERYTHING is their fault, but why take the 1.54 servers down before they had got SI running on ONE server?
And if they know or suspect it's going to take most of today, into the late night before they CAN fix SI, why the *HECK* didn't they roll us back to 1.54? Sure, we'd all whine about the delay with SI, but at least we could do it on guild channel (or alliance, depending on who you're with ).
I really cannot understand how a company can fuck up so monumentally, given the grief and bad press they've had over similar matters in the past.
I browsed through GOAs website, while others were having troubles downloading anything from there (thank god for proxy servers) and checked the french section.
You know what "Shrouded Isles: Delayed" is in french ?
