Scouts, I need your inputs about dmg type

Hello all

I would like to know all the pro's and con's you have to say about being either slash or thrust specced.

I have tried to make a little list, but would like to hear about experiences from the field

best anytime style, and lvl 50 followup
3x vulnerable armor types

CONs
3x resistant armor types
no good positionals


thrust

PROs
3x neutral armor types
1x vulnerable armor types
good positional styles

better arti weapons as slash, better WS as thrust

I'd say both work, depends on what you want. Personally i just use energy weapons since very few ppl have energy resists

thrust ur only any time is a taunt with has a defensive penalty so it means uve less change of blocking the hit directly after, ive always liked slash but depents how ur gonna play ... if ur going pure melee id say slash for better weps better style no defense pen an id use LW's to avoid armour resist 1 heat 1 cold 1 matter. if ur going less then 29 melee then go thrust as u dont get amy anyway an mayaswell use the extra weapon skill

malice does rock ye BUT i still think limiting urslef to slash dam is a mistake :<
LW are so versitile then u can almost always get decent dam (-20% or so max) BEFORE proc an a + after

i can only assume u mean hitting dragon fang but as the stun timer is same a bear tooth an ur gonna block more than evade on scout then its no diff atall then backing up riposte with amy

and that is because thrust anytimers arent that good, so if you want to do damage, you use positionals.

so really what i have thought about is, thrust = strafing bitch to get in sidestyles.

and thats really a playstyle I dont like, rather be slash and go with slam, riposte and amethyst

you also have to factor in template - a thrust temp is far more difficult to achieve than a slash one.

not rly, u gotta cap dex for bow dmg and if u go slash u gotta cap str too so

thrust legendary ftw. all the wepskill, no negs. sting hits almost as hard as amy, u got beartooth = riposte but with a 5s stun (short immunity, long enough for 1crit, tiny end use), pierce is a decent rear style and if u spec high enough an anytime snare + kite chain.

wel if ur high melee ull have backslash (39 slash) so slam run thorugh hit 3-4 backslash no diff than on thrust

with the 1.83 changes and the fact that you get to have both malice charge AND battler charge with slash I would def go slash.

er yes.. thats what im saying. wether u go slash or not u need to cap/overcap str and dex anyways so theres no difference in the suits.

well unless ur scout is a tower/keep roleplay 50bow leechbot like mine

Im 50 Thrust, 42 Shield. Using cold/heat weapons.
With 50+16 Thrust I have ~1600WS. Only melee specced rangers has that much WS, and I still beat them. I use Beartooth(after block) or Dragonfang(after evade) and Sting as followup. Only RR's I have problems with are 8+... and tanks ofc

Your WS is a displayed number, and pure fictional really. Tests from Wyrd have shown u have the same chance to penetrate defenses or hitting towards cap with 34+16 Thrust or 50+16 Thrust.

Ofcourse your style-damage is bigger with 50+16.

My ranger with 50+19 CD and 32+19 Blades has around 1430~WS. Dont remember loosing to a scout with that spec.

Spear-hunters will have higher WS then you, biggest problem for them however is to get past your shield.
