I have some experience on Savages so i can tell you two things. WS is king, therefor u would like to be Troll. However beeing that big (my savage is troll) can make it hard to se which positional to use on smaller enemies. My rr6l3 savage has almost 1900 in WS which i think is pretty good for a savage.

I'd urge you to consider a spec of 49 savagery and 44 HtH, it will help you cap your swingspeed (even as a Troll) with purple self haste, and the RR5 Savage ability in NF will be even more powerful then (pop all buffs for free for 15 seconds).

Well being a kobold can give you the advantage of being small so less noticed by enemy nukers and stuff in a fight, trolls are 'hit me pls k thx bye' basically.

We live in the dark age of morphalot tho so I'd go troll and put scalars in my template or so

Damage type does not specify what stat your weapon will use for calculating your weapon skill, for example, Hibernian Large Weapon= Str, no matter if you use crush(hammers etc) or slash(2h falcata and the like)

In other words... all h2h weapons are dex/str.

Kobbie, mostly for the 5% energy racial resist imo. Need all you can get vs the hib pbaoe spam. Also good vs sorc mez.

That weaponskill is wrong, there's 50 stat difference in strength compared between the two but the kobold has the higher dex, so i am guessing the troll will have 1690-1700 whereas the kobold has the ws which you state that one seems correct though.However, when str/con debuffed i think the kobold's weaponskill will be higher due to it's high dex, maybe some savage can test this and find out.All i know is that no savage definetly have 1800ws at rr1 with 25 dex/25 str overcaps they can probably reach it at rr5 or so.

I would be valkyn or kobold simply because you only need around 50 qui in sc and they are both decent too.

well yes WS 4 the troll is :1772 4 hth spec
and 4 koby :1746 4 hth spec

If i used a 4.4 mainhand claw i would sure as hell go 44/49, lose 30 ws or so, get a nice dps buff and 9% or so more damage overtime with the haste shout.With toa overcaps your weaponskill would still be high anyway since it's very easy for a savage to get them.It's like when you see friars using tartaros, majority would spec for last haste and hit 5.6 weapon real fast and gain more damage than they would if they were 44 staff instead of 39.

i have a m8 who have had both a troll savage and a kobold savage... and from what he have told me... a kobold-savage is much better... (yes he played em both to 50, and with good stuff on it)

Don't forget the 250 softcap on qui for weapon speed

And a troll with good toa gear can have 230+ qui, so troll will still cap swing speed (49 sav/44hth spec) but have more ws/hp then kobold.

well Id go troll for sure. dmg wise both troll and kobbie seem close if your h2h, but with all the nerf / buffs mythic throws about theres no telling what will be better in the future h2h or 2h and for 2h troll has got to be the best dmg dealer.
