I bought a new car and they are making me wait a week to pick it up!!!

On a side note, i am usually very pessimistic. Believe what i know not what im told, nor am i suggestive etc. But this car salesman was damn good... i got so many extras i need an extra car to fit them i think.

He even persuaded me to buy air conditioning ffs!!! i live in aberdeen scotland. People here relish heat when it comes!

Ohhhh i find PC world in particular the worst, only because i know nothing about comps but a guy tells me if i dont get this or this or this or this things won't work i listen as i know no better.

Lack knowledge about computers? Don't worry, someone is out there to profit from you!

Anyone else come across a salesperson that sold them something they really didnt need? :)

I still can't forgive my Friend she went into PC World with her brother and bought a 2 laptops, I went crazy turned out they manged to get loads of stuff chucked in, but I haven't seen this Laptop yet so im very suspicious. Its prolly something crap like it uses a Intel Celeron Chip.

1 i've learnt in the past 2 months (last PC world trip ;p ). Use hardware forum here because not only is advice sound and people dont profit. But they are also damn well moderated. same as these general forums.

I went to our local PC World to get a case fan (sunday at around 1pm =no other computer shops open),went to the diagnosic counter and asked for a case fan,the sales assistant returned with a heat sink:rolleyes:

After spending about 5 minutes trying to explain what a case fan was to a person with a blank look on thier face i decided to leave the shop and havnt been back since:clap:

Well, you bought a new car, so he must have been a good salesman. Unless you're stinking rich, then its ok, but I'd be more worried about the several grand in depreciation per year.

Well 2 years to pay for it, then trade in for newer nicer car with fewer/lesser payments so on so on.
(2 years i expect £1.5k+ depreciation)

All without worry of an MOT and full parts/labour warranty as long as i pay for it. And on selling it still has a year left so is an appealing sale.

Am i learning quick? ;p sign me up throdgrain

Ive sold cars, courier services, Sky tv (oh yes) ,photocopiers, loads of stuff, although motorbikes are by far the best fun, and the worst pay :(
Incidently, when I sell a bike the avarage waiting time to have it prepared is close to a week, and yes, I sell 500 to 600 a year before you ask :)

It would appear, from your post - that salesmen are not clever.

Just you are very, very stupid.

Some salesmen can be clever, yes. Your examples aren't even basic sales techniques and you got suckered in by them all. Shame on your weak will.

PC world employ the plebs of the world I am sure of it. I built a computer for a guy the other week. He refused the option to purchase Windows XP with it as he had his own Copy. That was b0rked. I advised he buy a proper version of Windows which he did. He went to load it and he got an error message to say

NTDRV Missing.

As I was out, he couldnt get hold of me. He phoned up PC World and was told that he needed a new motherboard, ram & possibly a new graphics card. Luckily all he needed to do was reinstall windows and hey presto everything was fine
