And the reason I didnt put down what I really felt is that if you knew my posts you know that I have debated and talked about this enough, im not going to keep doing it. When I was last there I remember watching the news, and they were doing this story on a small communist group who gathered to discuss stuff above a library. (obviously it was a quiet day for proper news!)
Anyway it was scary how biased that was.

Not even going to address any particular post because it’s mostly nonsense. The US “haters” are generalizing and blaming the US for problems that are global. The US “supporters” are blind. Instead of taking a step back and actually questioning what exactly is going on, they are taking what they are being spoon fed by the US media. It is not wrong to question what the media/government tell you, in fact you should.
The US Gov’t is OWNED by corporations like Halliburton (aside – how the hell can anyone justify what is going on with Halliburton? It’s a joke and an insult to the American soldiers who died in Iraq. It’s also an insult to the people who died on 9/11 to use 9/11 to go for oil). The US/World Media is OWNED by corporations. The US people seem to be unaware of this. Not because we are stupid, but because it’s a damn good trick. There are two political parties in the US that are virtually identical. They distract the American public with debates about “moral” issues that are so minor (in respect to government) compared with the stuff that is slipping by unnoticed by the majority. Stuff like the food we’re eating (leave America and you’ll see wth I mean), the air we breath, the water we use daily, our quality of life etc etc etc. I don’t think it’s unique to the USA, but it’s probably worst here. We won’t notice til someone in every family has cancer (oh wait that’s already happening). Wow off topic

The US gov’t would never fake catching Saddam because if he put out a video (a la Bin Laden) they would look retarded.
The US gov’t released footage of Saddam because it’s VERY important to show the Iraqi people that he is caught. I don’t’ think any of us can comprehend how terrified the Iraqi people are of Saddam. He’s been in control of their lives for 30 years. The US gov’t is trying to send a message that it’s over, he’s caught. He won’t be back, they can start rebuilding their lives now. I think there is nothing wrong with that.
I heard one report that if the US won’t let the Iraqis shoot Saddam (because that isn’t how we do things) then they will do it the first minute that the US troops pull out of Iraq. I thought that was pretty funny. Personally I think we should let the Iraqis decide. I certainly don’t want him over here on US soil.

no I voted for nader. I was voting in the state of Virginia which hasn't gone democrat since before WW2 or so, because of the US election system there is no point in voting in VA - it's going Republican - so I did a protest vote.
I plan on voting for Dean so far, but I haven't totally made up my mind. He is trying to go for donations from individuals, but I would be shocked if he's not bankrolled the same way they all are in the end.
I have something else to add. Why the hell would a European be jealous of Americans? Americans work harder, longer (it's true, we work harder and longer than any industrialized nation), and get far far less holiday (vacation) time. We have the best healthcare in the world, but a shocking number of us aren't entitled to that - especially children (and the cost is going up and up with no end in sight). We have a lower quality of life in general - the food we eat, the time we get with our families, our education systems... what is there to be jealous of? Our SUVs that we're chained to with the debt we owe for them? Our McDonalds on every corner and the huge % population that are obese? Sure, we can invade countries. Sure, we have huge corporations that are very rich. Do you think the average American sees a penny of that wealth? no. Something like 5% of Americans control 98% of the countries wealth. The average American isn't going to see a penny of the Iraqi oil money, we just get the $160 BILLION bill. Plz tell me why they would be jealous. Cause we get Friends first?

not just that, we pump our food (meat, milk, eggs, dairy) full of hormones and antibiotics - regulated by the FDA - head of the FDA appointed by the president. It's not one president. It's all the Presidents we've had in the past few decades. That is just one example, I could give alot more but I got better things to do
