Did you actually play Aion? On Spatalos some of the Russian guilds that played there had more than five full guilds of players - Greenfire for example.

I think this is the first MMO ever to actually release when it's ready to be....

Aion when it released in europe was another one that was pretty stable/finished.. but then.. it had been out for over a year in Korea.

Anyways.. seems there's a busy thread on the rift forums concerning RvR.. wonder if trion will respond... 2k+ posts in 1 day, lol.

And in Warhammer, Mythic also gambled on people rolling Order only to have flocks going Destruction tipping much of the scale in the early game.

I think the "good/bad" thing is more a thing of other factors than just good/bad.
Besides, in Rift, I'd say the Defiant is more good for me than Guardians which seems rather ..... sanctimonious.
But looks like Guardian for me so I hope most roll Defiant

I have to agree from what i have read from the lore + the game intros Defiants are the good guys, since Guardians destroyed their technology because they saw them as heretics and left them to die.
But if beta is anything to go by most people are rolling defiant I mean i had queue of over 15min for warfronst while playing defiant, and in the other hand he queue while guardian was 23 seconds on the same server.

I did play Aion actually yes and just before release russia/luthuania/turkey/croatia/letland and estonia were all meant to get banned from playing (this was on the NCsoft official forums at the time from an NCsoft rep) because they had their own publisher which wasnt ncsoft so there would be servers made up especially for them, going off what your saying clearly they didnt stick to it.

Elyos had miles more players on release than Asmo did on Spatalos, if that changed so far down the line it doesn't change that they had more on release which is my point. And it still doesnt change what we've said about "good" races in mmo's always having higher populations its been the same through out mmo history I doubt it'll change any time soon.

And the main reason is because there are way to many roleplayers and "For king arthurrrr" types around to ever let a good race be an underdog, sadly they outweigh pvpers heavily


So i'll guarantee you now Miri Defiant will be the Underdogs as far as population goes.

unlucky had nowt like that on Asmo, people spamming in other languages(german or swedish mainly) was about the height of it and I was used to that from DAOC and WoW, had no dodgy symbols etc.

AoE's will be there for sure, but there's not enough of them on any single class to make it worth "bomb" speccing...

I think I'll be going to a PvE server. I prefer PvP/RvR by consensus. Ganking people half my level while they are XP'ing does nothing for me.

With a full Stormcaller spec at 42 I was critting on AoE for up to 1.6k and could spam AoE almost infinitely...

There are very few instant AoEs though, which is what really made Warhammer AoE so out of control. That and the combination of guard and close quarters.
