Looks like the typical no-brain action movie.

We all need a no-brain action movie at times!

No idea, still go and see it though, cos I'm a big schlock horror fan.

And yes, we all need no-brainer action films from time to time so we can switch the brain off and relax - one of my faves is Tomb Raider which I've just watched again.

It's not just for the shower scene, honest!

:p

Oh and Charlies Angels as well, but that IS for Cameron Diaz :p

whoever thought of putting Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz in the same film is a true genius. he should be worshipped constantly and get free chocolate digestives.

No brain actioners are fab. But not Charlies Angels, because its wank. So is Tomb Raider.

Best no-brainer materiel has to be Starship Troopers, Big Trouble in Little China, Deep Rising and other stuff I can't remember.

Doogiy Howser, MD as a kind of futuristic SS-style psych-colonel. Spiffing.

I have the entire resident evil novelisation series, sad you may think, but they are all good and are written by the daughter of the man who wrote shadows of the empire, and a number of the aliens books, so the writing talent is fab.

Although the film is going to have nothing to do with the games. Probably a good thing.

Barry: I guess you the master of unlocking......

Jill: Its some kind of monster.....

classics

Urgh, I can't stand Starship Troopers even as a no brainer it stinks.

Its up there with Hollowman (the part were the Bacon is getting electrocuted cos he is standing in water, then they have two other characters standing in the same puddle and they don't get electrocuted WTF!)

Starship Troopers is a classic.

Doogie Howser: "Shoot the brain stem and put them down for good" (accomplished with a 3 round burst). Doesn't actually get put into practice in the film until that bloke is lying there injured at the end with the nuke and he holds off 3 fucking million of them with one rifle.

Denise Richards and her magically not-hurting-anymore gaping shoulder wound.

That fit red head who gets speared several times just as they board the get away space craft. She's lying there coughing up blood with 3 sucking chest wounds and Casper van Dien says "You're gonna be alright".

All make for a modern no-brainer classic, that can be watched time and again. My favourite is the TV "Would you like to know more?" bits :)

totally agree
that would you like to know more thing was w00t :)

the whole film didnt make any promises to be a sensible realistic or even remotely realistic film, its just a carnage filled action film and its good to kill 90minutes with ;)

Absolutely agree. The whole thing was so tongue-in-cheek that many people just wrote it off as shit. It was cast from soap stars, ffs.
