The person contacted a whole channel of mids/hibs/albs.

Some of which would not be online (and if they were online why not use ingame chat)

When talking about a live ingame thing happening it affected the gameplay. More albs turned up and ruined our attempt, if you fail to see that then you are, stupid.

You people can't look beyond that your relic raid failed and there is no way I'm going to change your mind.

But also bear in mind, that if by some miracle Photon does get banned, I will be calling for your ban....as you were using the same "third party programm" while playing the game.

ps last edit, Damon ehtics and morales are completly different from contractual agreements. It's unethical for me to pinch a seat on a bus from an old granny, but it won't land me up in jail.

Cause when you use a outside Daoc communication to warn other realm/albs of an ongoin raid, thus interfearing with the game play. I you just used /as /gu /tells that would have been fine. But when using another program it is against the CoC.

We are saying when irc is using IN CONJUNCTION with DaoC to someones advantage its a third party program

didn´t say it interfers with the game (as a program) I said in interfered with the COURSE OF THE GAME, it is LAME and against the CoC to use ANY 3rd party prorgam to alter the game (or in this case the COURSE of the game).

imo theres nothing wrong with posting like that, its hardly 'blabbling' - tipping off the raid - the raid is in full swing as you said ... at 9am theres hardly gonna be a lot of people on irc who arent already playing daoc ...

everyone always looks for someone to blame when something fails, and its unfair of trying to get vengeance on photon. i say that if albs managed to muster a defensive force at that time in the morning then well done guys, and bad luck hibs and if anyone is 'lame' its you for raiding at 8am

Oh please. Well done albs for mustering a defence that was called upon by using a 3rd party tool.

If you were raiding mid winning maybe even on 3rd door, then someone told irc and you got wiped, im dam sure you wouldnt think theres anything wrong.

Notice some people posting here that say its wrong are not hibs? So don't use that as an excuse.

It's arguable whether or not Photon's IRC outburst changed the course of the game. IRC is a means to get acros to as many Albion guilds/alliances as quickly as possible, but remember at the same time guilds with Alb keeps would have seen death-messages from their Excal Knights. That alone would have told half of Albion a relic raid was on, and I'm guessing most were preparing to defend before Photon dropped the news in IRC.


That's not to say it was acceptable though, there are three realms in the game and what goes on between two, should not be told to the third... unless one realm can benefit. Bringing Midgard on the scene would have slowed down the hibs, and given albs more time to strenghten their defence. It didn't happen, but is a very real possibility and reason enough not to mention relic-raids on IRC.




P.S. STR Relics or not, you lurikeen hit like girls so go after the power-relics

Am i allowed to post on LOE boards that there will be a Legion hunt on Thurday XX of april?


Clearly this is using an out of game mechanic to draw people into the game that would otherwise be watching the footy or drinking in the park (wels ;p).


Personally im against the whole irc thing. Unfortunenately every relic raid for last 10 months or so has peoepl in irc barking out the info. Imo...so long as this is not based on prior information...trhough spies etc.....its somethgin we have to live with.

Again..this is personal opinion and not some guild stance.


Going back to my message board example. If we are not allowed to use bmessage boards...chats rooms and other things to arange hunts /rvr......then im afriad that 99% of us breach COC.


I personall have issued posts on LOE boards many many times asking for all LOE to muster at a certain date for a certain raid. This is clearly using out of game methods to get albions to log on. Should I be shot ? Banned? Sent to Cardiff?

Well if you are doin a raid yourself with albs then its ok, but posting something like Hey guys i know hibs are doin a legion raid tomorrow at 21.00 CET. Firstly how can you know that? And secondly it will affect the game. So its just as bad as using irc.

Thats why its a Code Of Conduct. Yes mythic have no control over things that do not directly effect the game thats why they implement the COC, And if you dont understand that and do not wish to follow the rules of it yes you are in breach of the COC and can and should be baned.

All they need to do is see haow many albs loged on at that time and went to the frountier that will show how it effected the the RR
