How do they do that cause its all mixed up on the wites so cant guarantee that the leccy you get hasnt come from a coal or gas fired generator rather than a solar panel.

I guess its just they put that much on to the grid to cover your usage. Either way its a misleading statement
In a way you're right - electricity on the grid comes from wherever - but retail companies pay generators and you pay the retail companies. The retail company I pay only pays renewable generators.

Not got enough cash for it to be worth scaling into commercial property yet. There's a few of us tho, so maybe next year it'll be worth it.

Maybe :)

Heres a tip..fuk all of it comes from solar or wind.
Around 3% , solar in the UK is a big fat subsidy grabbing pile of shit.
UKs weather is mostly cloudy in a northern latitude, those 4K panels are making tiny amounts of power most of the year.

Funny. My mate runs a shitload of mining rigs for free in the summer and has a vastly reduced bill in the winter.

I suggested it myself on Freddies, but after reading mining forums realised solar was useless, if your friends getting success then they must have a magic light tree

Doctors and the whole experience of a doctors surgery.

Completely my fault yesterday, missed my appointment, thought it was next week. Just a giving up smoking thing to see the nurse and blow into a tube, done with it but seeing it through for completion and its probably a tick in the box for her anyway, number of patients who see the course through etc.

Anyway, she phoned yesterday after I missed the appointment and asked me to pop in at 8 to blow into a tube. Stood queueing up at the door and start listening to 2 layabouts discussing which doctor is best here, they know them all apparently. Idle fucks on reception didn't open the doors until 5 past, so they are now all running late and they haven't even started. The malingerers haven't got an appointment and were known to the reception staff.

They keep whining that they are under pressure. Two things that any normal person would observe. Open on time, then you aren't playing catch up from the start. Tell the malingers to bugger off and bother someone else, or get a pet or something and to stop taking up appointments of ill people.

Or we stop sucking money from social services so that they can deal with those types of people like they have done in the past.

I know someone who is a hypochondriac and they've had free but relatively cheap (to the tax payer) help from the social services but when all their funding disappeared she has no option but to use the GP/Hospital.

They are not people who need help but malingerers who need to be told to work harder

That'll sort them

Not work harder, just not pretend to be ill with various exotic conditions, all the time. As far as I could tell they worked anyway as one was moaning that the reception staff making them wait while the docs saw actually ill people would make them late.

Anyway, nothing wrong with working, if everybody thought they couldn't be arsed then nobody would have any shiny things.

Yeah, 'cause they choose to be like that and giving them a dressing down is all that's needed to sort them.

You're a mental health wizard!!

Wife asked me if we could do a quiche with bacon on top. So I went to the deluxe butcher and told him that I needed the best bacon he had. Money wasn’t an issue. He told me he had just what I needed and then started talking about the bacon, showing me the texture of the meat and how he knew the farmer who raised the swines from which the bacon came. Everything was organic and by the sounds of it, the pig had lived a better life than I had. So I got the last tiny bit he had left. Apparently whenever he gets some it disappears within a day. Was expensive, but he promised me that it was worth it.

So I get home and start cooking. Quiche goes in the oven and I now have a 30minute window to take a shit before I need to start cooking the bacon. Mid a massive log drop, I hear sizzling on the pan, so wife has started cooking the bacon. Mid wipe I still hear sizzling, so I yell out to her to hear if she has eyes on the edible pig gold. No answer. I wipe faster, wash my hands quickly and rush to the kitchen. No wife. Smoke everywhere and crisp black bacon. Well, I wouldn’t call it bacon it was more of a charcoal kinda thing. Apparently she was caught in front of the telly watching an old episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Which she had seen before.

I refused to eat anything and didn’t speak to her for the rest of the night

Getting given a Vauxhall Viva as a courtesy car. It's like driving a postman pat van but without the novelty factor.

What a horror show of a car.

Wow!

Cost of returning items (unused) if they're of any value/weight if you don't want to accept the (not unlikely) possibility that the carrier will lose them. Being quoted £120 to send an 8kilo parcel of not that big size worth £2500.

The company that sent it to me probably only paid a tenner, tops. How the hell do you return expensive stuff without paying a significant percentage of the cost of purchase?

They'll have spent more than a tenner on an 8KG parcel. NB. Are you returning outside 14 days? Don't they have a returns process?

Nope, immediate turnaround - returning to scan.co.uk - got an RMA number off them but I daresay the want you to pickup the return postage in full...

Well, are you returning the products because they're faulty?

If they are faulty then they should pay. If its just cause you dont fancy them any more i guess they are entitled to kake you pay. But dont you get 14 days to return on distance selling so if within that i would expect them to pay i guess

You get 14 days to cancel a contract for delivery from the day the order was put (so, even if you've received the goods). I wouldn't call the things faulty, but certainly unsuitable for intended use (but that's by the by - got some palit and asus gfx cards, memory on them is shite, got some EVGA graphics cards that are absolutely fantastic - bought 6 more from scan - and want to return the others - but £120 to return them? - to be fair, it looks like all I have to provide is proof of postage - not provide proof of delivery).

don't want guesses :)

@DaGaffer. Any other ideas?

I remember Scan being weird when my PSU was broken - being absolutely 100% sure that it wasn't my fault, but after some strong words they decided that I was absolutely correct, and they upgraded everything to next day delivery etc.

I thought you bought your other graphics cards from Amazon - something that you could do is to threaten to return everything, but they might call your bluff.

Right to cancel is on receipt of goods (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014), not day of order. Scan should have costs of returns explicitly stated, if they haven't, you can demand they pay full value of returns cost.

Bought the palits from Amazon - they're all going back (really shit - even a couple of the fans are faulty). Bought the ASUS from Scan - but they use the same memory as the palits - so whilst technically being of better quality they still don't fit purpose. Opened one, tested, shite, that and 5 unopened going back.

Bought EVGAs from Scan, they'll definitely do the trick.

OK. Got the cards at 11:50 - got my RMA number at 12:45. I guess I just need to talk to Scan and see what they say. But they're all offline so tomorrow I guess. Ta.

People who get to the front of the line, and then have no clue what they want. Currently in line at the bakery and this cunt is like "maybe I should get one of those... Aaaaaand perhaps two of those.. What are those? No thanks."

I'm already half an hour late and skipped breakfast, so hurry the fuck up. Especially in the morning
