Avoiding all news media until next Tuesday (when I'm going to see it) because the fuckers keep posting pictures from The Force Awakens all over their homepages.

I'm glad I decided to go to the first showing on the Wednesday night :)

Menus with too many options.

I'm sitting here eating an omelette looking at an Indian menu, it too has too many options to fantasize about.

AVG Antivirus.

It's a good product in terms of AV but it's now wayyyy to advertisey. It's constantly trying to push things down my throat and actually interrupting games to big up some pay-for service.

What are people using that's A) good B) free and C) not advertisy in the slightest?

B and C don't tend to exist together nowadays unfortunately. I use ESET Smart Security, which isn't free in the traditional sense, but it's in a perpetual trial mode so it works for me (just have to update the activation occasionally).

Nothing. Use the latest Windows, with Windows Defender. Make sure your firewall is up. Don't open dodgy attachments and stay off dodgy websites and you'll be fine.

AVG just became part of Sony's "What's New" app, which is their bloatware app that they use on tablets and phones. So I just got a "new product, AVG virus" notification on my phone, which is fucking stupid because phones don't need AV. Disabled and muted What's New again.

Weather is really shit today so no cycling, I thought I'd get another half marathon in instead. Except I can't go out until my body lays a couple of eggs, and it's not in egg-laying mode

Lovely in the midlands too, been sat in the pub garden in shorts all afternoon.

Haha, Northerners, you are miserable and so is your weather.

Growing up and being told how irritating Jimmy Hill was, and now that he's died, everyone is like "GUY WAS A LEGEND" / "HE WAS FOOTBALL".

So which is it? Anyone care to clarify, or is it the usual knee-jerk #PRAYFORJIMMY on social media?

I use Comodo. It is free and some features can be chatty but you can disable them. But the install is a twat that tries to install bullshit so watch that if you try it.

Currently using AVG but most likely going to fuck it off due to the constant updates and adware, will probably not bother with anything else.

Not had a virus in 15odd years of PC use, I don't go on dodgy websites or open .exe email attachments though.

I get Kaspersky free from Barclays so use that.

So, the missus has just seen a crocus, the strawberry plants have started to flower and the daffodils are up in my garden!

I couldn't be fuller with the joys of spring! :)

Oh wait. What?

Definitely no global warming happening. Absolute tin-foil hattery. It's definitely about redistribution of wealth and tree-hugging hippery

They provide a free copy of KIS to all online banking customers. Just logon to your account and you get a key with free yearly renewals.
You get free Mobile AV as well, and it moans every time you log in on certain Android Phones without running Kaspersky.

Or it could be the jet stream and its position changing because of el nino years and such.

Scientists saying that is less than a 2 degree rise in global temps so it being 10 degrees warmer isnt really just the single effect.

Quick, lets take one weird year as an example of weather trends!

Odd that all the figures are showing a reduction in nasty shit* yet the temperature seems to be following the same cycle, anyone would think there are other contributing factors.

*yadda yadda

Time for the opposition to come up with a better plan.
They could simply ask people who find them, or pensioners themselves, to dial 999.

Whilst asking the public to stop voting tory, because this is the stuff that tories come up with...
