I made an order yesterday for a Christmas present from a company that I though was a bit on the dodgy side. But they offered free next day delivery were £20 cheaper and took PayPal so I thought why not.

Email this morning saying they are out of stock locally but can ship it from China which will take 45 days for free or I can pay £45 for 2 day rush. So I cancelled it and it they have said it will take 90 days to issue a refund. PayPal here I come.

Most things in the freezer should be ok as long as it's not opened (the freezer that is). Freezers are insulated to keep the cold in and the frozen items keep everything else cold. Some things are sensitive and might spoil, ice cream can develop freezer burn and become icy in texture. Meats and vegetables should be fine. It also depends on the environment the freezer is in - warm room, thing spoil faster.
Don't assume everything is bad and just blindly discard it.
You could actually smell the fish as we walked in!!! Daren't risk the duck and chicken not after the norovirus session. Will definitely keep the raclette cheese. 'My' freezer is full of weight watcher meals and ice cream so I shall still use them.

The lack of snow in mainland Europe. I leave for Austria in 10 days to go skiing and it's sparse to say the least.

It's the immigrants, they've brought their anti-snow powers with them!

The Pyrenees have a dusting, some of the ski stations I know of are partially open. There is no more snow forecast until at least after Christmas, though.

When the most minor of changes results in inexplicable massive errors across an entire system

Being forced to get a burgerking burger after a 14 hour day, and the shops will be closed for quite a while by the time Im finally home.

Not being able to eat said burger because the train I managed to catch is so fucking full of people I can barely move.

Hearing the train intercom tell me that we're having up to 30 minutes delay due to unforeseen circumstances. Like it being dark, or a bit chilly, or terrorism, global warming and such.

Get to Schiphol Airport, realise I've forgotten to put my toiletries in a bag, ask the bloke in security if I can have one - replies in a happy Amsterdam accent "Certainly Sir, no problem!".

Do the same at Birmingham Airport - that'll be a pound please.

Oh and Dutch food. Just no.

Would you rather have good food or free plastic bags.

I'd say the bags, you can melt them down into oil and sell them and then import all the food you want

Your understanding of how things work leaves a little to be desired.

Must be why you swallow that climate change bullshit.

Dentists.
Had some "work" done this morning, one side of face numb and just chewed my own tongue trying to eat a Danish.
Also warned to take pain killers because I will be "quite sore" apparently when the anesthetic wears off. :/

I sometimes see code on SO that doesn't use English as standard language. Moest recently I saw some Italian. Its surprisingly hard to work out what a random method does when its name and variables are in a language you don't speak.

I more meant handling turkish strings is weird

For example calling .toUpper () in java causes lower case i to become 1

Scariest code I have seen would have to be either:
Fortran (77) written in Russian - All variables limited to 6 characters which make things hard to understand and then the comments are in Russian as well...

C++ written in Hebrew - Lets randomly insert stuff that should be read from right to left....

IT support idiots.

So we have an issue on our system where a transaction needs to be reversed (someone screwed up!) the standard way of reversing the transaction is not working because of some random error code (a bug)

Reported to our IT support people end of last month as a critical error, asked them to reverse the transaction and get back to me.

Every fucking day now they come back and say its fixed, can I please try and reverse the transaction the normal way, every fucking day it doesn't work. Which part of "just fucking fix it and then get back to me", do they not understand?!

Needing to sleep.

Yeah, it feels nice, but I'd ditch the need to sleep if I could. I could do with a few hours more right now tho :(

Yeah, I went to sleep at like 5 and woke up at 11, it dawns on you that that's the same as going bed at 12 and waking up at 6 :(

I need more than 6 hours sleep! :(

The SNP's budget statement.

Bleating for years and years about Westminster's power - Scotland get's own parliament, gets more devolved powers, gets even more devolved powers as part of the post-indy Smith Commission, even gets the power to raise / lower income tax....

Doesn't use the new powers, keeps parity with Westminster, enforces own cuts after bleating about Westminster cuts.

Fucking muppets. They got slated from all angles including the press.

I think they're going for the approach of that we don't have enough power in the union

I think that's been obvious since day 1, i'd have a lot more respect for them if they just admitted it and said "fuck these new powers, we don't give a shit about them".

Well considering that isn't what they wanted, they wanted full independence, haven't they always made that clear?
