Personally I'd take a physical copy every time - be it music, games or movies. Whilst streaming is very convenient and definitely has it's uses (I'd never buy a TV box set again - well maybe South Park as we have all 17 series now and it would be a shame not to complete the collection), I much prefer getting something physical for my cash - the quality on BluRay is much higher too, along with CD.

I still buy physical copies. Which I immediately rip, stick on the NAS and throw the disc into the attic. I can't remember the last time I actually used my Blu Ray player. To be honest, there are so few choices for streaming in Ireland (Netflix aaand, that's it.) that its physical disk or pirate. Nothing much in between. But it sounds like even if there were more choices, it would still be crap, because the problem is further back with the studios.

I agree, for ultimate quality, blu-ray is still the way to go (even more so with ultra blu-ray by the end of the year), but for romcoms, thrillers or things like Wolf Of Wall Street I'm less bothered about 1080p and 7.1 surround and generally choose convenience. The whole supply chain is a load of fuck-ass, if I wanted the blu-ray I would have had to bought it online which is fuck-all use at 7pm on a week day.

The industry are missing a trick. I'm ever hopeful that we'll see a on-demand, blu-ray quality service at some stage. Physical media is feeling more and more dated in this uber-broadband, on-demand world.

I'm also hoping that Google, Apple or Spotify will bring lossless audio to the market at no extract cost, perhaps when pigs grow wings.

It's probably more likely when HEVC gets some traction to drive the file sizes down while maintaining high quality.

Not as bad as people (mostly Americans) who say they are going to "socialise" the meeting notes.

Just send them out, there's no need to put them on Twitter you illiterate fool.

"Can you have an open dialogue with the vendors?"

What? What's wrong with "can you speak to Dave at IBM"?

What a ridiculous post! You're not insinuating that the people who actually design and legislate for the helmets know more about these things than a couple of blokes on the Internet?

That's odd, whenever it comes to scientists advising on the risks posed by anthropogenic climate change, you seem to hold completely the opposite view.

Getting a bollocking off my boss cause I sent a mass email round that came with a poll, asking if anyone likes Moby. The only selectable answers were 'No' and 'No'.

Turns out my boss quite likes Moby.

That's because I can quite clearly see the utter abuse of the scientific method by the activists and alarmists deciding that we are all doomed. You know the data adjustments, tenuous conclusions and shutting down of any sort of opposing viewpoint. Science normally advances by discussion, rebuttals and competing theories, not consensus, group think and pal review.

I'm not aware of any such abuse within bicycle helmet research and legislation, but hey, I could be wrong.

Imagine someone trying to sell a new car based on 20-year-old safety designs.

Euro NCAP works on 15 year cycles or longer (cycle before last didn't change between 1979 and 1997, last cycle was 1997 to 2009), so yeah your new car is already up against an old standard. And actually the EN standard that's used on most helmets in Europe is updated more frequently, but the Snell standard is regarded as better (apparently).

Suppliers installing updates for shits a giggles. A supplier of ours upgraded to a new release this weekend and it went massivly tits up. Causeing problems which took over two days to resolve. I normally would not care but I had just finished a project to install 350 phones on this platform which went live Friday. It has taken over a month to get all the info in and to configure all the users and phones as well as shipping them out. Now because of the downtime the MD wants to roll the changes back and scrp the whole idea :(

And if you're going to France never ever try to accomplish anything between the hours of 12pm and 2pm.

When i lived in Valencia it was a pain if you needed anything from a store other than the supermarket.

1) Go to store
2) Closed because of Siesta
3) Sign says it will open at 4pm
4) Go to bar for a couple of quintos and tapas
5) Come back at half past four, still closed
6) Go back to bar for more quintos, maybe some sangria
7) Wobble back to store at six, still closed
8) Repeat step 4 & 6
9) ??????
10) wake up without whatever it was I needed
11) Repeat for four months

When I went to the boulangerie for my pain at lunch time, the fuckers were shut, so instead of pain all I got was pain (see what I did there?).

Is anyone else getting supremely fed up of all this coverage on Cecil? Whilst trophy hunting isn't one of mankind's greatest pursuits, I am fairly certain this really isn't the biggest atrocity going on in the world right now - in fact I'm not even sure if it's the biggest atrocity going on in Zimbabwe right now. We've got kids getting killed in Syria, farmers getting murdered in South Africa, the usual shenanigans in Palestine and the army about to be deployed to keep the hordes out the Channel Tunnel, and yet everyone is getting sand in their vaginas about a dentist killing a Lion?

Has the world gone fucking batshit?

THANK YOU.

Sure it was shocking and the guy is a cunt, but it's gone on and on and on and on, not to mention the latent Facebook bell-ends that are 2 weeks behind everyone else and re-share everything you've seen a hundred times already.
