Yes if the motorway is busy and not many gaps. But you should be able to match speed and judge gaps to get in with the flow withput causing others to move over.

Been hitting it with WD40 for ages, trying to wiggle it, etc. etc. After 24 hours I've got a little lateral movement but am not really any closer to getting it out

Galvanic corrosion. Good luck. Might help if you can get a long breaker bar in, where the saddle rails sit in the top of the post. Then apply a lot of torque. Otherwise you'll probably have to cut it out.

Not sure what an insurance assessor would actually say here tbh; they're both wrong in different bits of the Highway Code (Rule 163 - make sure there's a gap for you to overtake into), and Rule 168, pull back to give a driver who is overtaking you, the space to do so. The dashcam guy definitely knew the caravan guy was trying to get in, but the caravan guy shouldn't have been anywhere near an overtaking manoeuvre that close to his exit. Knock for knock probably.

IIRC one of the first bits of the Highway Code says "you should try to avoid hitting other people".

One thing you have to get used to in the UK is that the pedals are swapped over. Accelerator is on the left, clutch on the right. Indicators are on the right side of the wheel too And the gears are swapped over, 1 and 2 are on the right of the stick, 4 and 5 the left

You make a joke about it but I remember a girl in my driving class who was adamant that she had it harder than us because back home in South Africa (where she was from, class was in Spain) their pedals were as you put it and she was having trouble getting used to how we had them arranged. Had one of my mates come round and I attached a 2.5m long metal pole to the top of the seat post and managed (after a *lot* of effort) to get it out.

Seat tube and frame are fine. Just cleaned them all out properly and the seat tube goes down to the bottom and comes out OK again.

So. Question @Tom - lube for a seat tube. Should I lube with my aas juice and then wipe it off - leaving a very thin film?

Just clean both surfaces and use a very, very small amount of grease. But to be honest, you're better off just removing it annually and giving it a wipe.

I should really be moving it more - especially on steep descents - but I've been lazy. Coming back from France I'm automatically getting over the back tyre a lot more and wanted to drop my post - which is why I realised it was so stuck.

I've used a *tiny* amount of grease - I'll see if that makes it too slippy to stay where it is. If so I'll clean it off again. At least I can get my post up and down now

All in all I just hate other drivers. I feel that there is a big difference from me(I have had my drivers license for a year) and ppl who got their's at 18. Firstly, they've long forgotten about the rules and made up their own. I had a cd with a set of tests; 25 questions in each and if you had more than 5 wrong you wouldn't pass.
