Finding temporary work. I'm getting offers for permanent developer positions but I can't take them because I'm leaving the country in a few months.
Get a short term contract - or a long term one and then walk out because of a "family death" or something.

You can do that occasionally and not piss the agents off...

@Gwadien In Denmark all books used for your study are a tax write-off(?), which is nice. Just looked up the rules, and apparently anything used for our studies are tax write-offs.

Look it up and see if the case is not the same in the UK.

It's not in the uk. And a full time student isn't going to be paying much tax tbh.

Having a clean up of folders on the PC and I have just deleted over 4GB of pictures, and for some reason they didn't go into my recycle bin, they've just gone.

I'm mean proper pictures, not boobs, before one of you make a comment

Gutted doesn't even come close. So pissed off right now

Would a system restore bring them back?

You can give any number of file recovery apps a try. I've heard good things about Recuva.
I ran this and it found over 7000 files, not all of them readable, but some went back over 2 years, which is amazing that stuff is still there after so much time, but....

Nothing I deleted earlier today has shown up, is it because I did a restore back to 3 days ago??

Maybe if you restored then it lost the files in the system. But it should just have taken the leading chars off and still be on the disk somewhere I would guess. Well that's how it used to work. They never actually delete they just kinda get hidden until you do something that Over writes that disk sector. Doing a restore may or may not have done that.

The restore is mainly for system files and settings and not data.

I hope you find them again

Just done a deep scan, took about 2 hours, and its found a lot, just transferring it now to a folder so I can go through it. Its amazing how much stuff is there, you can see how easy it is for HDD's to be purged to find dodgy stuff that people have.

Not me you understand.....my stuff's all very above board.....that's to say.....erm.....just gonna go and find a strong magnet and a hammer

I have 13000 images to go through, but a lot are duplicates and a lot are corrupted. Anyone know a good program for sorting out duplicates?

Random sites telling me to upgrade my browser. It's my browser, i don't give a f*ck what you'd like me to too.

"YouTube works with a wide range of browsers. However, if you'd like to use many of our latest and greatest features, please upgrade to a modern, fully supported browser."

"latest and greatest features" :cautious:

You should run the latest version of whatever browser you use for a good few reasons.

You should join the sites and f*ck off. I should stop smoking, eat healthy, run around the countryside with bunnies and masturbate less also. Not your place to say now is it.

Who pissed in your cornflakes? I'm recommending that you should keep your browser updated. It's your interface with the internet (pity the internet) so there's all manner of security issues that are addressed with every update. But whatever, be a stubborn dick about it.

Fair enough, but don't expect sites to support you in your enjoyment of antique software.

It wouldn't be constant spam if you just updated when it told you to...

Well don't be a dick about it, do what I'm recommending and the "spam" will stop. :)

Seriously, of all the things you should keep updated... the browser is towards the top of the list.

If you can point out a single shred of animosity or unpleasantness in my initial reply, I will humbly apologise.
