A lot of English speakers have trouble with sentences that don't make sense. It's a flaw of the language.

It sounds like in Finland you buy pre toasted bread and warm it up. which would be dumb so it can't mean that.

You buy bread and put it in a toaster. The toaster toasts the bread and the result is toast. If you buy toast then you don't need to put it in a toaster it because it has already been toasted.

Presumably tohtori meant bread rather than toast.
