UPS, the fucking morons. Missed my parcel coming and they've delivered it to "at number 8". No clue what street, I live at number 51 and the even numbers in my street are miles away. I've tried #8 in the next closest street to me, they know nothing of it.
They need to start GPS tagging delivery drivers little pad devices for exactly this reason.

Yes, but some wanker will probably claim its an invasion of privacy and say they are being monitored all the time.
Wonder who got your package @Billargh... someone just signed for it and thought "merry 2nd Christmas to me"?

Out of pure nosiness, what was it? Either way, you have not received the item so contact the seller and tell them to send another. It will be up to the seller to claim from UPS.

I'm going to check with a few neighbors when I get in from work tonight. Wouldn't surprise me if some ball bag decided they fancy an extra Christmas pressie like. It's just a bracelet for my lasses birthday.

@Aoami , I certainly hope this isn't a badly written 53, if so this guy needs lobotomized.

Ring them up, tell them to ask him when he gets back where he dropped it and ring you directly, they should

Update! Turns out #8 in my street is across the road, up the street a little and their entrance to the garden round the corner.

Aye it was. Christ knows why he picked that one mind, my neighbours on either side of me are: a 70 year old pension who's just about never out; and a middle aged couple, the wife is almost always in too.

I would put money on him having a delivery for that house too. Two birds one stone and all that. And City Link drivers do have GPS in the little signing devices.

Yeah, he probably tried to deliver to you, then delivered to them and asked them if they can look after it for you

Getting home after 10 days away, ill at that, to find my bloody Sky+ box has failed to record anything due to a 'technical fault'! What is wrong with them? And tomorrow is my return trip to the dentist for another 90 minutes and I can't breathe thro my nose. I am going to choke.

People with 0 common sense.

Flat mate decided to put 2 pints of milk, on it's side, opened in the fridge, top shelf too, everything's fucked.

school telling me, one week before semester end, that I had to combine all my carefully crafted documentation, 12 separate documents, in to one single document because they think that's easier. FML :-(

CVS servers *completely* fucking my project. I forgot to do a get-latest after moving to another computer, and tried to unfuck myself by dropping back to the version before my current version, but holy hell somehow a shitstorm to end all shitstorms ensued. I've only just finished repairing stuff.

Computers do what they're told, people mess up ;)

yup. I'm using a versioning system I know nothing about, with an IDE I know nothing about, governed by a project management method I know nothing about. the only thing I know about is the code, because I designed the application myself.

Imo what went wrong is this : I dragged and dropped all kinds of code an libs in to a new project in the IDE. Contrary to the expected behaviour of drag and drop, the IDE made some kind of reference to the files rather than having a copy placed in the directory I specified. I had been working with this and committed several versions. Then I made the tremendous mistake of removing the original files from the location outside the IDE's specified directory. At that point the CVS died a horrible death, because although it looks as if all is well, in reality a good many files became unlinked from their virtual counterparts and it refused to allow me to roll back. So,even though the server had good copies of the files it refused to let me get at them. At that point I decided that all Microsoft products, even if they look swish, are still pish.

I'm actually using TFS and VS2012. I really liked it until I discovered how easy it is to fuck it up.
