ok so on my sorc i have 31 body, and with template / RR i have +16 to skill (this gives effective of 47), now does this mean i only need to use MOF1 - to bring the level of the spell for resistance purposes to 50?, or do i still need mof3?

I suspect that i only need mof 1 in this case, but hopefully someone nore knowlegable than me can reply :) :worthy:

it should all stack, but I wouldnt worry too much the difference between 47 and 50 effective body arnt exactly massive.

Um no. Your +skill has no bearing on the effective level of your spell.

For example: a class speced 50 in their primary nuke line where the primary spec nuke is only a level 45 spell still benefits from MOF1.

thats why i am asking if i still need mof3 - as my items brings spell level upto 47? (although i am unsure if it works for resistance purposes)

It was a rhetorical question :p

+Skill will modify the damage upward slightly it will not increase the level of the spell for resistance or damage purposes. i.e. a level 10 spell under the effect of +10 skill will NOT do the same damage as the equivalent level 20 spell in the same line with no +skill. It will also be resisted alot more unless MOF is taken. It also can effect the power consumption of BASE line spells in a line where you are not speced 50.

Not sure which Sorc spell you're wanting to bring up to 50 if you're 31 body you're presumably using the level 50 life-tap for DD? Only reason I can think of is to get lower resists on root and dex debuffs?

Skill level effects the variance of spells so using the baseline level 50 lifetap, the spell level will be 50 for resistance purposes and 47 for variance purposes.

If your using the level 30 spec nuke for example you'll have 47 for variance purposes still but since the spell is level 30 it will be resisted alot. MOF will up the effective level of this spell to level 50 to reduce resists. It will only effect the amount it's outright resisted tho, not the damage it does.

Getting MOF won't help at all with the baseline nukes.. that's where your +16 body will help in getting more damage. MOF will help your spec aoe root etc, but you'll need enough to get from the spell level (this is the level you achieved the spell, if your trained 30 body but using a level 24 root then 24 is the number you use) to 50 so in your case probably about +20 from MOF.
