Indeed. That's basically a reason I have another level 50 tagged in my sig. And a reason we killed Golly last night. And etc, etc...

Another common way to avoid it is to stop playing the game altogether.



Of course, it wasn't an entirely serious statement I made, but there is plenty of truth in it. The outcome largely came down to a combination of luck and a stacked deck. You know that if you don't do enough damage fast enough (PA-CD and 7sec stun should be plenty to drop an Infiltrator though unless you're specced like a gimp) there is a good chance you'll get stunned and if you don't have Purge up you'll die, but you still went ahead.

It's the same as 9 months ago when I played, I knew that a SZ with Purge up would rip me a new one if he had luck on his side, but I'd still attack them. If I lost, it was ultimately my choice. Suck it up and move on.

But remember, cbs = plain shit against dual wielders. New tests shows that the evade-rate drops versus 2 weapons.

So if a infil evade 30% against a dual-wielder he have about 50% to evade your 2-hander.

Once I paed Sxx, she evaded my cd, dragonfanged me...and killed me, I went hysterical Shouted; Nerf Dragonfang!!! for weeks. If I was you Larc I would be completely hysterical by now

No - not glottis. If you had intelligence you'd compare the posts and realise the phrasing, style, sentance structure etc was entirely diferent. If you had even limited intelligence you'd badger a mod to confirm separate ID - hell you've got my permission.

Yeah felt very weird he could take all that damage...

I don't ever use a 2hander though, not even against casters.

What's stupid about the answer? I included a Scout in there anyway so ignore the tank if you want.

The point is that of course Dragonfang will mean you lose a LOT of fights. Of course you would have won a LOT of those fights if it was nerfed.

But take this fight for example. It was luck that he evaded and landed his DF and then won. If it happens frequently (and I know it does), then sure it's overpowered on that class in that situation.

But take a step back and look. You're the one who repeatedly puts yourself in that position. You know you're going to die if he purges, or is lucky, but you keep returning to try again rather than learning from your mistakes.


And I don't know what you mean by 'another dragonfanger'. I haven't used the style for 8 months


But look at my Reaver. Play mostly solo or duo in Odin's. For 7 realm ranks I have stomped on most stealthers out there (mostly rangers and nightshades) 1, 2, 3 (even 8) at a time. And now they basically won't attack. They have learnt to avoid me and wait for someone else to come along. Learn from experience and make better choices.

If I was Glottis i wouldn't use exactly the same phrasing and sentance structure if i wanted to pose myself as a completely other poster.

44 CS, let's assume standard 35 stealth/env

This leaves you with either very low weapon spec, or very low LA spec and you say you use 2 weaps and not 2h. Either way you're fucked.

If u spec like a gimp then lose, don't come to the boards whining about it, get a respec stone and sort it out.

I have PA'ed + CD'ed many things as a critfil and still lost the fight, Pin was basically right u chose 2 jump him, u could have moved aside and picked a better target.

44 sword
44 cs
15 la
32 envenom
35 stealth

have +14 to all skills and DR2 which gives a final LA spec at 15+14+12=41

Going by your logic that means that tank vs. tank should be fair... erm savage. Fact is classes have differences and have advantages and disadvantages (obviously) otherwise game would be exceptionally boring.

TBH everyone should stop whining about Df as its part of game, and same goes for any other class but the whine will never stop

Yes he could but I dont see the point in that? it still shows that infil is overpowered and stuff. so he was lucky who got PA,CD,etc,etc,etc in. and then when the infil has 0.1% hp left he get dragonffang in and wins, thats overpowered.

As I said above, it's a combination of being overpowerd and luck.

No. There is no 'better play' obvious here. Him standing in the path of someone walking down the road and landing the PA chain on him doesn't take great play. Nor does him landing evade chains. It mostly takes luck. The roll of a die. Evade or not. Miss or not, etc, etc. It was luck on the part of the Inf to evade.

But the thing with 'luck' is that it eventually evens out to the base probabilities of the events happening. So, with experience you'll know that there's an X% chance of him landing Dragonfang and kicking your arse, no matter how much headstart you get.

So, take the risk, or not. Up to you.

Doing the PA chain with 2H is useless. CD is twice as likely to get evaded when using 2H than it is when duel wielding.

Understood.

However phrasing and underlying sentance structure tend to stay similar even when 'faking' it. A 10 year old, or average SB player, may try to pretend to be someone else butif you know what to look for its easy to spot.
