ok this goes a few pages back but ive only just noticed it and i must say wtf r u going on about??

Advanced GNVQ for thick people? Htf can u say that? Even if it is 4 thick people then can you please tell me why most people in this country do it? And if they are easy then at least it means you've got a good chance of getting good grades, which could lead u into a good Uni. Thats what im aiming for.

Because it's an "easy" route to getting into University.

And if they are easy then at least it means you've got a good chance of getting good grades, which could lead u into a good Uni. Thats what im aiming for.

The step up from GNVQ to a degree is quite large, both relating to the amount and complexity of work you have to do.

Best advice would be to start at Uni on an HND course and see if you can manage it, then apply to swap to a "proper" degree course after the 1st year...

OK i agree with you here. OK my GCSE's weren't brill but they weren't shit either, but ive now started working harder this year in 6th year and i am predicted good grades:)

My final grades were fuck all like those which were predicted... thats for college and school.

Well, it does take rather a lot of dedication in NOT doing work to fail an A level - you should be able to get a pass at least.

The thing is A levels allow you to go into a good university, one which will look good on your CV - rather than East Basildon Technical College or something.

By doing a GNVQ you are condemning yourself to the lower stream of labour in this country. There are exceptions, and no doubt some smartarse will say 'well I did a GNVQ, and I now own Microsoft' or something, but generally GNVQ = Mechanic at Kwik-Fit.
