Guys if you want access to the US ps3 store, all you need to do is create a new user account with an american address. Different demos and content available for d/l there, including a demo of ninja gaiden which is quite fun.

Yeah, and it's also worth signing up to the Japanese and even Hong Kong stores. Japan has a demo of Minne no golf 5, and it's fucking great =D

So whats Sonys excuse for not giving EU the demos that the Americans have?

Seems like another shaft up the arse to me.

This isn't me doing a 360 v PS3 just wanting to know why Sony don't offer the Demos world wide without you having to fake your identity? :eek7:

I was just kinda shocked that Sony have given the Americans and possibly the Japs Ninja Gaiden demo?

It's like saying 'we like you two more so we'll give you a better service and Europe can have the shaft!'

Well obviously you're too stupid to work out that EU games need to be made PAL compatible and need to be TRANSLATED into a bunch of other languages.

I thought about this yesterday - if you have a game/demo/film thats in HD - would it need converting to any other format ? as HD is a standard set of lines.... or have I got the wrong end of the stick

Fairly easy really if we dont have the game as a demo it means there are no plans to release it in europe. So you will need a US PS3 account and you would have to buy the game from the states.

I think he more means the voice a text like the translation Mythic do to DAOC

If everyone had HD, that would be fine. I'm sure they'll want to add a 576p native mode for PAL users with SDTVs (which is, uhh, most people). But like I said, there are also translation issues aswell as licensing and rating stuff.

I would think the different stores for different regions are due to different game release schedules and titles. Obviously they will push demos of games that they want to sell in a particular market.

But the 360 video marketplace in europe is also different to the american one, so it is not just sony doing it.

Well it is not actually Microsofts fault about the Video Market place not coming to the UK atleast.

As for games you don't see MS saying ''you and you can have it but you can't because we don't think your worth our time''

Anyway i'm not starting anything i'm just saying it sucks donkey dick to be honest.

Oh right and MS don't translate their demos either?

Nah it's just the fact Sony can't be arsed.

Tard.

Erm, no, that would be the games developers and publishers choice. Don't be silly about it, it is quite obvious why certain demos are only for certain regions. I suppose having different stores makes controlling that easier. It is not a big deal, nice as it would be to be able to get any of the demos easier.

Anyone else had the email from EBgames stating that Metal Gear Solid 4 has been delayed another 6 months till March 2008 at the earliest? The Register is reporting the delay although Konami hasn't officially responded yet. If true it is another blow for Sony, personally I was holding off on PS3 till the price drop anyway but MGS4 was one of the few games that might have made me buy the console earlier.

I don't blame you for not knowing any better, but please allow me to set the record straight.

FACT is, MGS4 never ever had a release date. If it has no release date, how can it be delayed? What happened is EBgames had a placeholder date (which they guessed, presumably by flipping a coin or picking it out of a hat) and replaced it with a more realistic placeholder date.

Meh, I haven't completed MGS3 or even really started PO yet, so I could wait a while :D

Fair enough, I had thought it was a 2007 game myself but I am well aware of what these release dates are like. Alan Wake is getting on for 12 months delayed already and the less said about HL2: Orange Box the better! :)

You should probably let la reg know too. It appears they didn't know any better either.
