Hiya, I've been using Mozilla for a few months now and much prefer it to IE but I have a problem which is really annoying. Basically Mozilla randomly wipes my favorites list, so I have to re-add all my favorite websites. Could anyone think of a reason for it doing this? I've already tried reinstalling Mozilla.

Thanks alot.

Perhaps the bit about him preferring mozilla was difficult to comprehend. Have a look here. It sounds as though your profile is corrupting and defaulting back to the stock settings. Your favourites are held there too so it makes sense to me :)

Which version of Mozilla are you using? Profile corruptions have been known, especially in earlier versions of Firefox.

There's a Firefox extension called "Bookmark Backup", which will automatically backup your bookmarks every day. Alternatively, if you have some FTP space somewhere, there's a "Bookmark Syncronizer" which uploads your bookmarks as XML to some webspace and then can be instructed to automatically download them again on request, or automatically at startup. This also allows you to keep your bookmarks in sync at work and at home automatically. Very cool indeed.

Perhaps you find sarcasm difficult to comprehend? :) Every time someone says 'download x browser' in response to an IE problem, I become more deranged.

Well this is a totally different situation, the chap has obviously tried both, knows which he prefers and wants to fix it.

Given a little time to use and learn each browser, I doubt there'd be anything but a very small minority that would ever choose IE over anything else, there's no reason to. That's why people get vocal about the alternatives.

Its very strange, I just got them all back without doing anything. I also have the Mozilla Quick searches, Firefox & Mozilla Information and the bookmarks toolbar folders tabs in my favorites which I deleted months ago. Going to see how long it lasts like this, since it seems to have fixed itself. :D Thanks guys.
