It is the way it is going. Personally I'm quite happy with Randy Lerner. He isn't the richest billionaire (!), but he genuinely has an affection for our club and is trying to do things the right way -- building up the infrastructure, not just signing any big name player for stupid wages.

But after his very first interview this week, where he wouldn't be drawn on how much our budget was for the new season other than to say he didn't believe in spending more than the clubs means, we have had some fan groups write open letters to him asking him to sell to a richer man.

Some fans are so frigging thick and short sighted it is amazing they can cross the road without help.

Maybe he had some clauses that gave him the right to negotiate if he scored XX number or goals or something Or Rafa likes him and think he should have a bigger salary

None of those stories are confirmed yet, I am always wary of reports from Russian clubs -they like dealing through the press to raise prices. Zhirkov is a very good player though. Feel for Malouda though, after a very poor start to his Chelski career he has turned into one of their best performers, having another left sided player come in is bad for him.

The Leonardo story is interesting, I'd say it's likely if Ancelloti does leave, seems to me it is time for a change at Milan, they are getting stagnant.

That's the other reason I think it is just the club using the press to raise prices and interest.

It's probably a Hiddink recommendation - he's been talking about him for a lot of the season. Would be a good signing though - Ashley Cole & Malouda can't realistically play 60 odd games per season at their fittest. Would provide us with more depth that we need and the ability to cover two positions with one player.

We've been linked with him for a while, probably because of Roman as well. He'd be a great addition, cover and competition for both LB and LW. Players from the Russian league dont come cheap though. However he shouldnt be any more than Arshavin tbh.

Dunno, i think juventus is a step higher then werder. They are building up now after the big scam. Hope they buy 1 good striker and 1 good right back defender and they have a good team. Some youngsters who are coming up also : giovinco , marchisio, de clegie.

Think Diego will fit good in that team.

Zhirkov looked pretty good against us in the UEFA for CSKA. I wouldn't say he was worth that sort of money to be honest, but time will tell.

I saw Diego in the UEFA cup this season and I personally really enjoyed his performances. It will be interesting to see how he does at Juve but I think he has enough quality in him to be a great signing.
