Both our and Sunderland's reserve teams were made up of lads around 18-21, so no injured first teamers in there to make up the numbers. Not sure if it is a rule of the competition.

By golly it was nice to see the Villa win something, even if it is only a minor trophy.

Although a number of the team looked pretty promising I would think making the step up from reserve league to premier league has to be quite daunting. With so many managers preferring to buy in established talent it can't be easy to make a living as a footballer.

I almost feel sorry for them.

Does this mean you've got the best set of youngsters ready to explode into the premiership, or you've had the most injuries this season with players needing games to get back into the flow of things?

Its not the youths option because Arsenal won the Youth League this year and face Liverpool in the first leg of the FA cup tonight should be a good game. So we are on for a double ;)

Was a funny article in the Swedish paper today :) They explained how papers have been trying to put forward how great Giggs carrer actually have been, and how few has managed anything even remotely close to that. Then they concluded that all of those papers could have done a much simpler work, by saying "If Giggs had done the exact same thing for sex more years, he would be as big as Maldini"

One of the true great plays his last match today!

Well Giggs has not retired yet, and has actually won more league titles than Maldini. The only thing he does not have is the same amount of European honours, and the International honours. But unlike Maldini he was not born into one of the great world teams.

Also, I think it's more likely the article said six more years :p

Nono! It was sex! It was in swedish you know ;) Six ofc!
Or does Serie A not end until next weekend maybe? So it's only his last home game? I don't really follow Serie A tbh :p

Yeah it finishes next week, so this is simply his last home game.

Disappointing end for him though, maybe would have been better for him to bow out with Milan having had a better season.

I think the Arse one looks nicer than the Villa one, which just looks like a cheap knock-off polo you'd get on holiday.

so a youth/reserve team for man utd as expected, dunno if thats good or bad, at least if the big names were playing they'd be avoiding crunching tackles or exerting themselves too much, these players all want to prove themselves! could go spectacularly wrong for us Tigers :(

im just hoping for a result! and if all else fails that the toon and boro get creamed!

haha no. but when i went to qpr vs millwall a while ago half there fans were rounded up by police horses before the game (not that it made a difference) . people just expect to them to do something nowadays. cardiff and leeds are always chaperoned by police to.

heh well when millwall came to hull for the FA cup the away end of the KC needed serious refurbishment after all the chairs were ripped up and thrown everywhere, luckily the KC is right next to a big hospital so all injuries treated quickly! :p

thank god for Villa
