Indie rock I guess if you have to pigeonhole them. It's Matt Johnson's band and he's been going since 1978, the lyrics are really really personal yet most of the fans can relate to them really easily, plus his stance on the middle east is depressingly relavent nowadays.

Inclined to agree, though Meteora is a different beast.. it's a bit more thrashy than HT was. However 'Faint' fucking owns > LP track evah.

tbh

Meteora is probably a better album musically, but I still like HT more. It had that catchiness to it's songs which Meteora doesn't have, and the songs had more variety.

You are right gremlin but manufactured bands are the scourge of the earth.

virtually all bands are manufactured though, even the ones that start off like proper bands usually end up being manipulated and chisled into mainstream pop. There's being a few bands I used to like but went all watered down and shitty once they got famous, appeared on TOTP etc.

I'm listening to:

\and you will know us by the trail of dead - source tags and codes\
\pretty girls make graves - good health\

Neither of which are gothic death metal hardcore screamo or whatever, which you might expect from the tragic names.
