my bards name from daoc. it was randomly generated by the name generator, and i kept it for the forums because i mainly used the daoc forum.
Strangely enough, so is mine. Though I used to go as Butcher back in TFC (and still do in DoD:S).

Had a few nicknames, was called "The C" by a few friends because there was two Colin's in the group and instead of confusing it, i was called "C" :eek7:

Then we got involved in citizen band radio in the local area, and i was called "Bulldog" because of my gruff voice at the time.

got into Quake in a big way then Quakeworld came out, and I went to register but someone already had Bulldog :( so my mates at the time joked about how mad i was in the game, so put down "insane" instead

stuck with it since, partually due to earning it every so often in games. These days I use "Col" more often, maybe because too many people use InSaNe and seem to lay claim to it.

Ages ago before the days that I knew about DAoC, I used to have the nick TiberiuS because it sounded cool and capitals either end of the nick looked cool. :p

Sharma was the name of my first serious DAoC character, one I actually enjoyed playing. Since then it sorta stuck and has been my online nick since. (One of my RL mates has me under "Jason (Sharma)" in his mobile phone book and I wasn't even aware he knew it.

Since Sharma was an ice wizard, it spawned my current hotmail address which I use to this day. :)

Saruya - tis an acronym for Shove A Rail Up Your Arse.

Picked it after playing Q2 for a week (even back then I was a railwhore) with my first ever clan (XTC) in 1998. One of the clan (Sass) shortened it to Sar, which I preferred and have used ever since - for 9 years! Eep...

:)

Well, way back in the dim and distant past, I was after a login name for an email addy or something. Unfortunately my name is common as muck and rather than have davejohnson5766877987 or whatever, I needed something else. Luckily I had a tube of pringles sat next to the keyboard and lo and behold djpringle was born.

My name is the name of the planet in Sonic, and also a Necromancer in Legacy of Kain...some old PSX game. I wish I could change it but its my username for so many things and my email, it'd be to much hassle.

I used to like simpsons a lot, and now on games i try to use Lasrailla, or Lasrai, just a randomly generated name.

I was originally called Camazotz, which is an Aztec/Maya Bat God. I got it from a Dungeons & Dragons manual when Tezcatlipoca (another Aztec God) was either too long or already taken. Camazotz is also the name of a planet in a children's fantasy novel.

Camazotz proved to be somewhat unique, I was loathe to change it, but I used xane everywhere else, the decision was unpopular, many Barryworlders got upset, there were death threats, protests, riots, embassies got burned, even the Pope issued a fatwah.

xane is a corruption of my first name Ian.

I always use yaruar.

It came about years ago in the BI years (before informationsuperhighweb) whilst hanging round with druids and witches getting stoned on the tops of hills in the middle of the nights (i am a filthy hippie at heart) and one of my druid friends cast runes to find out my true name. The runes spelt out Yaruar which apparantly meant He of Many Questions, He of Many Answers. Years later when i got online i used to use my real name as there were so few of us buggers out there on the emergent interweb. Once people started appearing more and more i realised that i needed a unique moniker and remembered Yaruar. I started using it a while ago for online interraction and use it as a primary name for all characters in games because it is unique.

GDW is short for my old name Grandadwrinkle which I thought up in 1997 as a way to chat up young girls on IRC. It didnt work too well though;)

Mine comes from my RL nickname which is doh (short for Doherty). I'm male so I figure that'd work. There was also an advert on TV at the time which featured a rather podgy character. :D

In games I've used Amergin, which is a character from Irish Mythology, Beldin, a character from a series of books by Feist and DuBois which was the surname of a girl I liked (which sounds really sad now :|) and I thought it sounded cool.

I took this nick to disassociate myself from my past... you see, a long long time ago I too started a thread about what a round of sandwiches was... ;)

Yet another non-answer from you - typical!

My 6 letter surname has caused so much trouble over the years... 'maz' - my old nickname turned out to be pretty popular online (popular as in there were other people who used it) and in an (unsuccessful) attempt to requite the amorous advances of a rich and aging danishman I taken his suggestion of the name 'mazling', which probably earned me the online nick 'mazelene'. It turns out however that there are other mazlings online, as well as 'urgh' which I was considering changing my nick to.

A few years back I bought what, at the time, was one of the sexiest Italian thouroghbread racing steeds on the planet......made by an Italian fella called Wilier Triestina

Shortly afterwards I started playing CS online (pity me :().

I now use Wilier for all my online activities.....although it causes a bit of trouble in TS since Ive always said it Will-ier whereas the Southern monkeys from ZhG call me Wye-lier, where in RL (as-in in Italy) its probably something like Weel-ee-er......or something.

It started off as super_gray which i chose when i started college and stuff, it then proceeded in game to Counterstrike where i kept it going.

Then shortened it to S_Gray before finally deciding to lose the "S" altogether and just going with Gray.

Before long i eventually quit the Counterstrike scene and have now moved onto Warcraft under a different alias! Gray is still very much a part of it though
