Why do folk moan about people adding?

Why do folk slander others of on Fh?

Some people have way too much time on their hands and no outlet to vent their frustrations, hence they play a mmorpg and moan about everything and everyone safe in the anonymity of their character.

Basically, people who moan about adders etc generally either have no life or are young adolescents who don't yet have the life experience to put the actions of players in a game into the proper perspective, if they did they wouldn't let something so trivial upset them and certainly wouldn't take the time to type it out on a forum where they know they will get agression as a response.

To get back to the original poster's question, this display of power and disagreement versus authority on fh, is some situations as in the particular example, derives because the interlocutor here, want's too feel in a way superior versus me, for the simple reason that he believes we have something in common, like the fact that we speak greek.

In a more in-depth analysis you can find that this is because some people face inferiority complexes and they try to get though them via a game and their related forums.

I play the game for fun, usually more solo than grouped nowadays, due to the fact that groups become harder to get into unless you play regular. And i must admit over the last few months i have not been playing that often, due to the fact that to me its not as fun as it use to be.

I dont tend to add on fights, sometimes i do occasionally by mistake. Usually i die more than win in fights, but thats ok i dont usually mind its a game after all.

Do i like people adding on me when solo, no, its hard enough most times for me to win 1 v1 but i would like the chance or at least to think i have a chance in my ML0 CL0 rr1 ROG tank to fight and last longer than 5 seconds.

And thats the problem with DAOC , the fun factor is slowly ebbing away. I have more fun and even fights in Thid than i do in RvR, in my opinion DAOC should be more like Thid and less like a leet wannabes wet dream.

Bring in a Solo Battleground, or give the choice to enter one. Now people will say that this will water down the existing RvR population makinf less people in RvR, But if you are going to be solo in RvR why not do it in a BG and at least have more fun. After all the only people that ould complain about it are those that like to add on solo fights. If you are going to leave solo's alone why not then in there own BG.

To me, it's never been about how you play the game. It's always been about how you treat other people regardless of playstyle. The "zerger" who actively seeks to piss other people off is just as much a **** as the "fg'er" or soloer who bitches at anyone who is just playing the game as they always have done

very wise words, and this post probably answers Pips thread to absoluete perfection. (It may just be conincidence but the /rude spams are also part of his trademark after he adds)

and it gets very close to the real point here. The real point is the people that play in this manner HATE to be tarnished with the lame brush. They hate posting and being undermind by people just replying that they are an "adder". They hate the idea that perhaps they are not particulary good at this game (even though that doesnt mean much in the big scheme). They hate any association with the word "adder".

so why? If its ok to add as it doesnt say its wrong in the rulebook, or the person you add on doesnt pay your subs, or its Irvr or whatever reason, why the need to even bother defending it. Why when you call someone an adder is it a negative term? why arn't there genuine posts saying "nice add back there you guys really took me by surprise well played" (non sarcastically)

For me, adders harm the gameplay of others, which is a bad thing.

People who abuse others for the playstyle, and insult them, are a worse thing.

The good side for me is that there are still people out there who like to have fun, who try to avoid adds, and who don't crucify others for their mistakes or actions. Far more such people than a read of these forums would suggest.
