If you lived in the UK - it wouldn't be a minor inconvenience.

But because your not from the UK - i can't comment :p

The worst thing about the rising food prices so far is that Cinnamon and Raisin bagels are now costing over £1.20 a packet! Where will the madness end?

But as said, to some issues are bigger then to some.

The GOOD news is that Haribo Goldbears are still only £1 for a large bag. Well they are in the shop near where I live...

Unless you don't eat/use electricity/have heating/use transport of any means etc. - then yes - it'd have a minimal effect.

Either that or you consider increased costs of living as a minor inconvenience

i love how this is happening in my lifetime....

anyone stop to think that the oil supplies are far far worse than being reported

this is not something like a tinpot dictator or a bad storm

this is oil, this is the big one!

You are not wrong there bud, my dad was quite political when I was a kid and he had read alot of articles on future oil predictions and it was pretty grim reading even back then but basically they said 2012 will be crunch time and 2020 will see worldwide oil rationing.

Jim Cramer saying we're out of oil!

And tohtori: I dont think you fully apreacite how serious this is. If we dont come up with a replacement our economies will start falling down one by one. And right now it doesnt look too good.

I actually do. If pay 100 or 200 or 300 for my living, it's minor inconvinience.

Ah yes. Glad you reminded me...

Ah, never meant that, but thanks for reminding me too :D

They were 2 packets for the price of 1 in some supermarkets recently! I guess Jelly Babies ain't made from crude oil! :D

Phew ohew! :D

I fully appreciate how SOME people might find it as a "catastrophe" etc etc, i just don't think it'll effect my life that much.

But you gave petrol prices :(

I wanted food stuff prices.

Bread has risen 20-30% since Christmas, same with eggs.

Looking at £1.10 for a decent loaf of bread now and £1.20 for 6 good eggs, not crappy imported ones from Spain with samonela ;)

It's hitting the bodybuilding community quite hard too now.

Caged hen eggs are up to 1.50 for 15, which was £1 for 15 at the beginning of the uni year (October)

Chicken is up £1 per kilo, Rice, Pasta and other basic foods are going up in price fairly sharply :(

I'd kill for those prices :eek6:

Seriously, you can't get a kilo of chicken for...hell...i think it's around 6 euro a kilo? 12 eggs are about, well, 2 euro i guess.

I'm not sure if you are aware Toht - but comparing the prices of items in two different countries isn't really valid :p

Again, don't start anything about it, but i was just curious on the prices and it's shocking how cheap they are.

Can still fill up me car for just under 20 quid and its got a double tank = +150 ltrs.

For those that think it is because oil is running out, it isnt, its just speculators playing with the market.

Finland is expensive then but I guess the wages are better than the UK average anyway.

£1.50 is...according to a converter i juts checked....2.18 euro.

your from finland arent you toht? or is it norway? i'm sure it's one of the two.
Thing is i know norway is taxed to shit an prices are high..but from what i can make out wages make it about fair...here in the UK it seems prices go up 30-40% an wages over 2 years go up about 9% if ya lucky....

an with fuel...in the states they pay peanuts for petrol...yet we pay a good 3 times what they do....why?!

Dunno about wages. They don't go up with the prices though, any more then in the UK. Should be able to pull out some average pay numbers etc if need be.

Most of it is tax, well, 22% i think But it's also a good thing, taxing keeps the 'land as a "good place". As in, roads, healthcare etc get cash.

Not complaining about the prices, just wondering how much things cost around.

A Fin yes.
