As I said IN that thread, it's not to replace individual film threads - it's just there for general film discussion. After all, it's not worth creating a thread for every film we see, but someone may want to discuss something in it. It's much more sensible to have a film thread with little one-off posts in it than it is to create a new thread for every single little post.

Also, the fact it seems to be relatively active since creation would suggest that's it's not an altogether shit thread.
