All this drama over a load of bollox. If I had seen them I would also have removed them as they served NO PURPOSE.

I wanted to talk about the proliferation of random catch-all threads. I'd come in from the pub and top was another - "The General Film Thread" - so I started "The General Thread" as a pisstake - and the post was about the amalgamation of threads into one long catch-all. It had already been rated as "funny" by someone and is a topic that a few people have clearly shown is in need of debate.

It had a clear purpose, broke no rules and was deleted.

I disagree on this. You're either a tits OR an ass man.

I like both, don't get me wrong, but I'm an ass man myself. And I like the fact that there's ass in one thread and tits in the other. I rarely look at the tits, but I regularly look at the ass.

Edit: Sorry, yeah, I getcha now. Of course they deserve their own threads


Edit: I don't mind the odd catch all thread - but there is a current trend for quite a lot and it seems to have crossed some mythical "line" for me. And others.

A few (no, I don't know how many a "few" in this case is) are OK. Too many and you risk losing diversity of posts.

The random annoying things thread is a great thread. However, I like reading posts where they have a rant and rave about what's randomly annoying them in their own threads - where we join in either disagreeing or agreeing or "meh" ing. That doesn't go on too much in the random annoying things thread and I suspect people put their gripes in that thread, rather than have a proper moan about them in a thread of their own...

Deebs owns and runs it, the mods mod it, but it's made by all of us.

Bowing to authority is not what FH's ever been about. Questioning authority is not only a good thing, but a totally necessary thing. Mods are human and can make mistakes and/or exhibit poor judgement - and we can point that out to them.

They're not jackbooted-police with a "do as I fucking say" stick - and if they were this place would be emptied faster than your balls at the sight of a girls uncovered ankle.
