best nights sleep I've ever had was while camping in the Irish republic and it pissed down with rain all night

Camping in the rain is awesome, you can't have a fire but the sound of rain on canvas is amazing.

Edit, so long as the sun comes out in the morning because there is nothing worse than putting a wet tent away.

Disagree actually. April-May-June has been good for a few years, July and some of August shite, September and October have been good again.

What I have increasingly noticed over the past decade and a half is that we no longer get "British" rain - we get some monsoon-level shit. All massive raindrops in torrential fashion.

I kinda like it more than permadrizzle but...
