further more you're comparing hib new dungeon to alb random landscape.

I am pretty sure you will have some nifty effects too in you dungeon.

You do of course realise that the Hib screenshot is of the only new and interesting bit of Hibland

Alb on the other hand has fifteen new dungeons all completely itemised with 120 new mob types and models in each. Every town has been remodelled and now has 67 different house models, 37 different castles/keep models and 25 new towers. Each town will have new NPC's that walk around chatting to each other and offering the player quests, goods etc. All Alb mobs now give double the XP and treble the money/drops.
Not content with this, each race has 15 new 'skins' ranging in skin tone and body density thus allowing the player more variety/individuality in their look. Each character class can now choose the skills they wish to develop from all the paths available regardless of path i.e. an Armsman can choose to develop stealth or Cabalist matter skill if they wish.

Albion has forever been the best looking realm in the game, don't even try to argue this point cause you all know its true.

the point is the reason all us hibs and mids are in awe is because we're finally getting a little loving graphic's wise. the imporvement for us is a big one, the change is less obvious in albion because you guys are used to your scenery looking good, so cut mythic a little slack just cause for once you arn't getting 100% of the love doesn't mean you still arn't to golden child of their game

afterall, its not called 'Dark Age Of Tir Na Nog' is it

I can't believe you whinging about this, people have been complaining for ages at the lack of depth and content in Hibernia(easy to find on VN boards). For ages Hibernia consisted of a single brush, with the odd giant mushroom thrown in, eventually we get some content loving and you moan, ffs, get real.

This is besides the fact that you have absolutely no idea what the completed product will be, just a vague assumption based on a few screenshots. You only end up looking like spoiled, whining twats, that will never be satisfied with your lot.

Land of Lava = Some bare rocks with lakes with an orange/yellow texture instead of the standard blue one.

Huge Ravines in Skona= Mountain goes up, ravine goes down still looks like a hill with trees to me
Epic zone= 100% of the middies would be unable to tell if they were in Skona, Myrkwood, gotar, west svealand, vale of mularn or Malmohus (epic zone) without /loc if you dropped their chars there. It's all brown/green ground, some hills and trees.

Nevertheless, I still love Midgard

to be honest i've never really used the loc system to extensivly, its a big problem for me when people msg me with things like

"Rez: 23k, 45k"

still getting to the entrance of malmo is easy, you can either follow the western zone wall (no fun) or hoof it cross country past the furtherest WW camp and the silver skale drakes till you make it to the little gap with the tree and the rock

that said, i seriously doubt this albi has ever played in a different realm for any period of time. if he had then he probably wouldn't be complaining.... who am i kidding, he's an albi the moment they don't get 100% of the loving they start to cry and weep. probably what comes with being filled with ruthless school kids who's only ambition is to be number one not then floudering because DAoC is all about teamwork

Dark Age of Whine-alot.

When I started to play Midgard I loved the atmosphere, the dusk colour.
When I tried out Albion I thougt - hmm - they must have started designing Albion and gotten tired. I mean Midgard doesn't even have doors. Albion have more woods then Midgard have and hibernia after what I've seen of it.
When I tried out Hibernia - I felt like I was on acid - so extreem green all of it

but hey - they had doors also (at some locations).

Albion had clearly most details at start and now they whine cause they apparently don't anymore.

TBH Wildfire, they have a point. Alb currently owns mid and hib severely for looks. I mean seriously, hib has one landscape type, the green fields and trees look, for every zone. The most different is Cullen which is has a bit of fogging and Sheeroe which is slightly darker at any time of day...

By contrast alb has plains, forests, mountains, grassy fields etc. etc. It's generally a much more interesting place.
Dunno much about midgard, didn't stay there long, what I saw was brown mud and trees or snow and trees.

Also I don't think you can fully judge how everything will look from a few screenshots. Once the game comes out, we shall see.

I'm not arguing that alb isnt the best looking realm in the game atm. IMO it is, ive played a 50 zerker and a 50 NS on other servers, and yes, the other realms did seem pretty dull (no offence).

My point was more along the lines of looking at the pics and being able to say "ooh that looks cool" to both the hib and mid pics, and then coming to the alb shots and thinking "hmm, well... its a rock... its a bit of woodland... its a keep on a hill... we have those already..."

Imo Albion and Midgard look great, nice attention to detail.
I heard in the beginning Daoc was only meant to include Midgard and Albion and the developers "moaned" when they were asked to put in Hibernia, maybe thats why Hib looks crap.
Maybe it explains why firbolgs look so gimped aswell, and the fact Hib chars are so unbalanced.
