its bad for the game if you have everything equal, if you put 95% of casters on any other class they would get farmed 24/7. the game needs differing dificulty levels otherwise the lesser able players would soon get bored and cancel subs, with WO they are just aiming for these type of players.

So if it please Johnny consumer and Mr Bank manager does that mean your Mr minority for not being happy? In tests on 1000 people 999 were happy and 1 was unhappy.Would you change it for 1 person?

I also don't see why people worry so much about stealthers - the counter measures to pop them out of stealth, SL items, Presence Node, Traps, MoS, Lookout, FreeSL Deathblow ability (Infil/NS), PBAoE, etc etc mean that when popped out of stealth, we're in shit-creek without a paddle (unless we have vanish which works about 50% of the time).
Stealthers make the game fun! Of course it's a shit being slashed down when you're a caster or healer, but the stealther gets his come uppance when out of stealth at range or with a pet on them.
A game without stealthers I think would get boring pretty quick, as they add a random element, and they are great for the casual player that doesn't always have time to be in a dedicated full group, and likes to solo.

I think in DAOC it is pretty well balanced (well casters are a bit OP... :>) but I suppose a DAOC2 would never be the same really. I really hope this game goes on and on. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose :>

Problem in DAoC is stealth != stealth its invisability.
And most of your counters mean you have to roll a stealther yourself to use those which kinda beats the point.
Without stealthers there will be alot more fights going on and you get a clear view on how many people are on atm as you can see them all.

Now I just hope they wont have any "buff" classes and hope they take some pointers from GW and take "protection" spells instead of buff(bots).

Would be nice if they like made stealthers able to stealth, but more like hide, like in the meaning of an assasin, who when moving is viseble, but when standing still and out of combat is stealthed, or with the use of camouflaging in ure suroundings. Would suit the "wood elf" good that way.

No one, but they are definately the best for soloing. For the simple reason you can avoid the zerglings by staying invisible.

So why do you have to worry about stealthers? Cause they make people roam less, afraid to get jumped by unknown amount of stealthers?

Because you can't see what they are going to do unless it's too late, and people whine about the decay in people playing when most people tend to play stealthers these days esp just prior or after primetime which makes the server "dead" for some people while theres still loads of people around which you can't see.

Well ofc mythic wanted daoc to be a huge zerg vs zerg fest and stealthers didnt fit into it even in daoc so they remove them to have everyone visible.

To me he sounded a bit like: "For Arthur" but tbh, standing 50vs50ppl spamming the best AE spell you have to leech most RP's is not really the kind of game I wanna play, could aswell dig out Diablo II then and play sorceress, it's about the same.

I'd like if they did something to please every playstyle and especially, as Andrilyn said, get rid of buffs. I don't really see the point in having buffs, cause what's the difference of +155 to a stat when all have it? It reminds me a bit of good old Magic vs. whatever new card game. In Magic you'd have a 1/1 creature, in another game a 1000/1000 creature...still it's about the same stuff =)

Sure, you can never balance a game for everything, that's near to impossible, but at least a little care for what's good or bad in solo/fg/zerg would be nice so people can play more ways, after all that's more subs for them aswell =)

Also, the people yelling around stuff like "accept it's gonna be zerg (and you leetasses are not invited lolol)"....pretty crap attitude imo. The game is in what, Alpha or pre-Alpha atm, so if people send in their ideas it might even be implemented, so why accept stuff? I think the more sides a game has, the more fun it is for people in general.

There is ranger/assasin type classes ingame afaik just they wont have pure invisibility, at a guess it be things like hide when near shadows or maybe even the long promised disguise ability(something we was promised in daoc for ns i think looong ago)
Also its not a zerg vs zerg game im sure i read its realm vs realm but with massive fight zones, big fight zones and small scale fight zones.

The first reason, you can't see what they are going to do until it's too late, hm reminds me of fgs running in on speed5 from cliprange to gank me. You can't see them nor what they are going to do, until it's too late.

And the second reason, that'll hardly be a problem in WO or?

In the big picutre, the average maturity level of typical stealther players are well below the common average of the other classes in the game. No scientific research, just my simple impression after 3.5 years in the game.

Getting rid of stealthers is the only good thing I've seen about warhammer this far. Everything else about the game looks pretty pathetic this far tho

Havent been on excal in a while, since I moved back to Ireland I'm stuck on my lappy till I get my desktop and the rest of my wordly possessions shipped here from England so I can only play classic as its less laggy and no need for dual log for buffs.
I was "griefing" ;) a mid mini group on Glast the other day, but it was revenge for them ganking my at the leps whilst I was trying to get CL xp.
Sniper ranger on glast is so much fun tbh, especially when high RR casters stand to look around still even after you pop their bubble and crit them.

I aint really generalising, I'm just yanking his chain, theres as much truth in atributing personality types to peoples choice of game classes as there is in atributing to star signs.
I mean, I'm a hydrophobic aquarian, explain that Russel Grant.

Stealth has brought in nothing but trouble in DAoC from its beginning. Stealth as a concept is just totally broken.

Stealth as implimented always seemed a bit crap to me: a cop-out, but guess became a game in itself.

They will run it down, and contrary to other posts here WO is aimed at current DAOC players and to bring back those that have left, that is the base they will work from. They couldnt stay still or else their revenue stream would run out in two years.

Along side that, they will expect to pick up some WoW players who are interested in decent PvP, and leavers from other games.

They get an significant initial boost in revenue from box sales as people just give it a try, and the the longterm revenue will mostly be from DAOC switchers and returners.

The only hope to get a much larger player base than that is to really get their PR sorted - even now there is very little buzz being generated in the games media that ive seen - they need to get things buzzing like WoW did. Good PR sells more games than good games!

Having stealthers with the power to be invisiable to scout things out would be nice. They can move around in stealth etc, and stand still and be hidden, but not fight from or in stealth, except maybe with other stealthed targets ? (maybe a 30 second timer after popping out of stealth before they can attack etc unless they are fighting another stealthed target or get poped visible by a visible char)

That alteast would be easier to balance for the game creators. Then you can make stealthers be as powerful as any visible class and still let them have the ability to actually work as information giving scouts etc.
