Whats the n rate. Mines only 300. I see it can go higher.

And how much.

If i can ger a higher n rating than 300. I might upgrade

I had a bit of a play, as I was curious and its raining. I was testing wireless uploads/downloads using my synology ds212 NAS which is attached by Gb LAN to the router. The router was upstairs. The results weren't as stellar as hoped for, but they are pretty decent. I'm pretty sure that the NAS is maxed out and bottle-necking.

The max I can squeeze out is about 27 MB/s by simultaneous uploading/downloading using 5G and 2.5G connections at the same time. Thats 217 Mbps.

On 5G, I can download Avatar BD - 40Gb file size in about 40 mins - which is pretty decent and easily enough to stream.

On 2.5G downloads are about 12 MBps, 90 Mbps. Avatar 1 hour.

Got one of these second hand from Ebay, £160:

STEELCASE_V1_GREYFAB_9446_1024x10241_b26dd870-a96a-45fc-a303-c10589c23ef6_1024x1024.jpg

A Steelcase Leap v1, lots of good reviews and I have to say it's pretty comfortable. The thing weighs a tonne but it all moves very nice and smoothly. When you recline, the base slides forward.

Original price is about $900 so I think it's a bargain.

Bought one of these for target shooting for now, plan on moving up to rabbits once I am (ultra) confident in my shooting. I have permission to shoot on some land near by. Put a couple of hundred shots through it last night with a mate, its fantastic for the price. Its fairly easy to modify but that takes it into requiring a full gun license (its just below the legal limit)

My mum was talking about my brother talking about getting a new chair, "it's a herman something-or-other" so I (in my dry trolling humoured ways) said "herman munster chair?" and she was like "ohh! that's the one! I should text him and tell him the name".

So she did. Gave me some lel.

Only Herman Miller has been allowed to touch my ass for the last 9 years at home and at work. I recommend the Aeron or Mirra models!

Maybe not Nerdy or awesome but does anyone here have anything like a ScanSnap. I am sick of filing paper work and keeping receipts I keep getting tempted by these. I think one of these with the document feeder duplex and ocr it will be better than the flatbed on the all in one.

We used to use one for the family business. They're pretty damn good, I would have got one for home but my needs don't justify the cost.

The fact that they do double sided helps speed things up a load. They also have the ability to discard blank pages and come with a special sleeve you can use to do A3 scanning (basically you fold a single sided A3 in half and it reconstructs it). Our one also came with a full version of Adobe Acrobat as well which was pretty cool if you factor in the software cost of that alone.

Only thing I would say is that you really have to stick to the page limits though, i.e. overload the sheet feeder at your own peril.

I don't think my budget will go that far. I am looking at either this or this. It is portable and wireless vs document feeder and duplex.

Personally I know nothing of the first brand. I'd go with the ScanSnap, it looks like a smaller version of what I've used so it'll probably be a bit flimsier but I'd imagine the scanning engine is likely similar. The sheet feed system on that one just looks slightly less solid than the one I used to use.

Awaiting delivery on the most expensive bike rack on the market (as far as I can tell). Carries up to 4, lockable, whole rack tilts so you can get into your boot without having to take the bikes off the back.

It's been bought in tandem with a thule roofbar and a couple of kayak carriers. Boats will be decided upon in the next few days. At the moment I'm looking at this as a good compromise between whitewater and flat water touring that you can stow your gear in for a few days river trip. Apologies in advance for the fact that the guy sounds like a retard:

took delivery of a Cotic Soul 275 frame today, along with a Hope bottom bracket and a Middleburn RS-8 X-Type crank, with a Middleburn UNO 32T chainring.

Finished bike will look something like this:

prolly either a Fox or DT-Swiss. preferably last year's or the year before's model. Forks are fucking expensive man!

something like this or this most likely. maybe a Pike if I can find a / 27.5" one for a decent price.
I've got a 120mm X-Fusion Slide 29 on my Solaris. What do Cotic say is the recommended upper limit for a Soul? 140?

yeah Cotic does X-Fusion as the standard fork. 275 Souls are designed around the 120mm fork length, with bandwidth from 100 to 140 according to the Cotic site. I'm going for a fairly conservative XC-ish build, but running 1x10 and I am getting the Hope tech "enduro" wheels and somewhat wider tyres. I'm also considering a dropper post because while I like the seat up high for climbing and roads, I also like it far out of the way when I'm doing anything technical and I really cba to faff with it.

I'm a recent convert to the 2.4" front tyre, which is just rediculously comfy and grippy. I'd stick a slightly smaller width on the back. Traditional leg-shaving Dutch XC would be 80 or 100mm forks, hyperlight wheels, 2.1" tyres max on the front and as many gears as you could get on the bike.
