I'm really liking Nightwish at the moment, simply because it's so different from the usual stuff I listen to.

Your so l33t, let me touch you.

And seems your listening to the most commercial crap band from every genre of metal so I have no idea what to recommend you.

So like the previous speakers im gonna name something totally different from what your listening to, you'll probably hate it but that's your loss. Ready? Here goes:

Opeth

Track recommendation: "Bleak", "Demon Of The Fall" and for more mellow "Hope Leaves" of latest cd.

Oh, and I came up with some alternatives:

Dimmu -> Old Man's Child
Cradle Of Filth -> Graveworm
Rammstein - > Deathstars - Rape Of Virtue (cheesy industrial metal, yay)
Rammstein - > Laibach ( or you could listen to the band rammstein ripped off and got famous by doing so)
Korn -> In Flames latest cd the quiet place, where Anders Friden tries to sound like him, really funny

Anyway piss off, im tired.

I listen to pretty much anything... As I said, those were from the top of my head.
>thinks<

Cruciform Injection.
Iced World.
Anthrax (oO dont know if this really counts)
Hatebreed
Children Of Bodom
Tool
Cannibal Corpse

Wether I listen to mainstream aswell or not, at least I dont listen to the mass produced BS that people now-a-days call music (50Cent, B.Spears etc)

By the way... I like Opeth.

Definitely try some Megadeth, Kill The King is my favourite song by them, although they have a load of good songs.

Another band is Therapy?, Screamager and Knives are two good songs.

Deftones are excellent, My Own Summer, Knife Party or Back to School are good.

Don't listen to shanks, it is clear the man is a cock.

Sort your attitude out, please? We've always had rules in the music forum about not dragging other people's opinions in music down because you disagree? You really need to get off that high horse you're on: every post you make is condescending in nature, rude and out of place.

You really aren't adding anything to the music discussion by telling people to "piss off". It doesn't do anything to the thread, except make you look like a small child.

You mean despite the fact that I actually helped him? Just checking if your offtopic go at me had any point? Was it a mayor contrubition to the discussion? Did it help Overdriven diversify his mp3 collection? If you wanna talk about my attitude make a thread about it and dont spoil this one.

So you helped him in his request: does that ever give you the right to tell him to piss off?

Show some fucking respect. It's not hard, try it someday.

I don't think he meant it in the context that you took it in Swift. ;)

Still, I agree with Swift. Condescending people just because their music is what you consider "commercial" is gayer than gay itself. I'm listening to Filter - Take a Picture atm. Seems pretty commercial. I mean they've clearly written the song so that people will like it. Damn you Filter you commercial whores.

You see what's wrong with the above statement????

Commercial pressures are needed in music, to stop musicians from doing a Radiohead and crawling up their own creative arses. It's what gives us catchy choruses and hook line - those bits of the song that end up lodged in our heads.

However, death metal is shit. Very very shit. It's one of the many reasons the world would be a better place without Scandinavia.

oO Death metal is like everything else, you either love it or you hate it.
Anyway, still on the search for decent music... Asked a few people and this is the list they give me..

THE Darkness :)/ yeah.. Pah)
THE Rasmus (Got an album from a parent.)
THE Offspring (Not to bad)
THE Distillers (Ehh)
THE Used (....)

To be honest, the only one I actually like from that list is The Offspring..
Anyone got anything good to listen to that doesnt begin with "THE"? >Would be suprised<

I have a thing for female vocal bands, most of the new bands atm are the typical male vocals etc and wears a bit.

Well if you like punk you could always take a listen to NOFX latest effort "the war on errorism", maybe abit too political for some, good music nontheless. Always strike me as a Offspring like band.

Speaking of "The" bands, why not give "The Haunted" a try. If you feel that Slayer has gone uninteresting lately you might find a nice alternative on "The Haunted Made Me Do It". Check out: Hollow Grounds, Leech and Silencer. Top Quality thrash metal. If you like it and feel the need for more of the same "sound" you can check out the happy danes in Hatesphere cd "Bloodred Hatred" which I enjoyed alot more then the haunted's latest. Disbeliever is a awsome track.

Children Of Bodom - Impaled Nazarene 's latest effort "All that you fear" practically reeks of Bodom.

Glad you like Opeth
