Jogging at that weight? Cycling would be much better.

This.

Cycling for the win anyway. None of that knees/hips fun you get later on because humans evolved way before tarmacadam and pavements.

Gah - edit for the above (fucking timer) - I'd already posted that. Not that it'll teach me to read post dates :)

Would expect someone with a personal trainer to lose weight faster than that ;s

I think i done well as i have almost lost 2 stone since i started. Also its not about how quickly you can lose weight, its all about balance. I have to lose at most each week 2lbs. If i lose weight alot faster there is a higher chance i will lose my way.

Anyway my view is that even if i lose a tiny bit each week i am going in the right direction.

3 months = almost lost 2 stone... By xmas im aiming for 12 stone 7lbs...

Very well done Amphrax. fuck anyone saying you should have lost more. Everyone is different and it's great you are losing the weight as opposed to "thinking" about going to the gym etc.

Loosing weight to quickly is not healthy at all, and you also risk getting it all back. I think Amphrax is doing a good job and he is steadily going towards his goal! When it comes to anything like loosing weight or gaining muscles, one key-point is having patience :)

I suddenly found myself getting a little soggy round the midsection at 5'10 and 13stone 3lb, so decided on the 9th of this month to get back down to where I was a couple of years ago when last I was last posting times for Concept2 challenges as a lightweight on the limit of 75kg or just under 12 stone.

In 19 days, by exercising hard each day and limiting my calorie intake to around the 16-1800 mark using MyNetDiary to monitor and record it, I've lost 3.8kg, or a bit over 9 lbs.

I've just begun a more structured strength programme now, which I think will see me drop the remaining 4kg fairly quickly, but if I stick with it, might have me start putting on a bit as I lift heavier weights.

I'm lucky in that I can play with my weight fairly easily having had to gain lean weight in the past to be competitive in certain sailing classes, and then drop weight for rowing. This was the first time I've ever done it because I started to get lardy round the middle though. The perils of being 30 something I suppose.
