Two minutes left and all hell brakes loose, theres incoming from both entrances to the switch, i took down 6 beofre a TR MAX finally felled me, but i did enough to hold the base until the reinforcements got there and just 20 seconds after i died the hack was complete

Will - very good balance, so balanced that I didn't even think about this as I've been playing (if it was a problem of course I'd have noticed and be whinging by now ). You'd think every man and his dog would try the MAX heavy armour but far from it. Units seem to have a good mix and work well.

Played for quite a bit last night with friends and we nearly locked down (taken over ALL) a continent, wouldn't be suprised if the yanks managed it while we went to bed (when I say WE I mean the 800 or so players on our side or whatever ). I played about with hacking and large base takeovers last night, made it to BR 5 .

Ultimate shit the life out of me by popping up next to me in a MAX as I was stealthed having a cuppa .

/edit : Scouse mate - yeah you can turn implants off, take them out etc etc. Some use your stamina so when thats gone they turn off as well.

I didnt manage to get it installed until about 11pm last night, after downloading (I got 55-60kps almost constantly from the UK fileplanet server on 512k BT ADSL) installing then patching.

First impressions are good, it deff needs tooltips or something on the buttons though. The mouse on my machine seems really lagged, is that just me? It is a cordless mouse and I have never trusted it. Other than that it looks cool, I got on some ship called HART and got dropped in the middle of nowhere cause I had no idea where to go.

well I spent 10 hours downloading from the UK server at 20kb/s on my 1MB connection, while not amused at the slow speed I thought "good it will be done by the time I wake up". I woke this morning to see "your connection to the server has timed out", apparently the fucking UK server crashed as I could only see the 4 American servers when I logged back in.

Oh well I should have it downloaoded in 19 hours if the east coast server doesnt crash.

bleh Xtro i had no luck last night, first i crashed and the comp hard locked, then my cable conn kept going off, thats why i kept logging in and out, gave up in the end. Be on later today though

Mouse cursor has some weird ultra deceleration thing going on for me. If I move it too slowly then it just stops and it makes it fuckin hard to click buttons.

I did that HART thing too Didn't realise you could just recall to sanctuary so I spent 20 mins running up a tower and jumping off to kill myself. The instant action button is just a downright lie. Every time I've used that I end up somewhere with 2 enemies tops and just end up walking around for ages being bored.

I'd almost given up when I heard people talking about taking back Ishindar. So I walked over there at 2mph in my max suit and ended up in a pretty intense 5 hour long war. Lots of fun, but my grief points are going through the roof. Just can't stop people walking into my line of fire

Oh I'm TR and bought a pounder max thingy. But how is it I see people in other max suits sprinting off at light speed when I'm stuck pootling along at snails pace?

Using MS optical here - no mouse probs at all and not heard of a prob until Gef posted.

Cask - press Q to go into Run mode, weapons are powered down, takes a few seconds to drop back out of run mode too so hit Q again as soon as you see some action.

Also know how to anchor them? I figured there was a button for that somewhere but I can't find it

Weird, its not really bad or anything just seems to 'stick' and it makes it hard to click small buttons. The actual game seems smooth as hell, might try a mouse with a cord tonight see if that helps any..

I do like the idea of the MAX suits with the jump jets. Mobility with a big gun and armour...

Remember at present only 1 side has MAX suits with jump jet capability - VS

I play NC and haven't noticed them much yet tbh. NC MAX's are poo poo kaka to use a technical term imho.

Adams, VS = Vanu Soverignty, that IS a side Others are TR - Terran Republic and NC - New Conglomerate. So if you want jump jets, pick VS to play for. Like I said I'm NC atm (on Markov) but will prob switch sides for release.

Gef, nah I was just wondering what spec you had as you said it ran smooth - trying to get a grip of what system runs it top notch and what falls over atm.

Pre-ordered the game, ordered a Radeon 9500 pro and 512mb of DDR ram so although my wallet hurts a bit I can't wait for release.

To be honest I think the whole game will be a lot smoother by the time the beta ends anyway.

Code is normally optimised just before release, so you should see some improvement. I remember (though I never played) that the C&C Generals spec for the beta was obscene, but revised for final release.
