I'm playing it on the hardest, but that's not my point (and yeah I'm not having that much trouble, it still pisses me off)...It's a good idea, and does add to the atmosphere, but personally it's frustrating a lot, and detracts from the enjoyment, because I'm being flinged about while I'm trying to pull out my gun to shoot the fucking thing. It would have been a lot better if you didn't have to rely on it so much of the time. Bluergh.

And a week behind the rest of the world (thanks to not being paid last week) I finally get it.

Good, nothing I didn't expect - but unlike Thief the environmental texture work here is horrendous. I played the alpha version and it was dire then, but I dismissed it, as it was alpha. But it's still cack.

The textures in Q3 are still better than this - these only look "better" because of the bump mapping and specular highlights (which I never have liked anyway, cos specular highlights just make everything look plastic-y, and Far Cry is horrendously to blame for this in areas). They really only look very good from a distance. That said the consoles and videos are really lovely and crisp as hell.

Framerate isn't bad - averaging about 20-25 in fights, and the full 60 in some areas. Doesn't seem to like me OC'g my vid card though - the game's responsiveness goes through the floor when I OC it. Things like continuing to walk forward for 5-10 seconds after I've taken my finger off of W, pressing jump and jumping 10 seconds later...

The voice acting is decent enough as well.

As for the game itself - very tense. I like that you can't use your flash and weapons simultaneously. Otherwise what the fuck's the point in having darkness in the game? May as well whack the r_gamma up to 9 and play through the entire game brightly lit.

Playing it on normal - would play it on Veteran, but I'd like some level of forgiveness from the game due to the shortcomings of my system (cpu & ram).

Still think HL2 will beat this for experience though - always looked forward more to that than D3.

'kin hell - UQ runs bloody well on my system, moreso than medium or high.

Weird. Not complaining though. Got it running at 1024*768, UQ, 4xAA and 8xAF. Looks good
