Stupid place to ask I guess - but there are some intelligent people on here

My girlfriend's mum has been a bitch a chucked away loads of her stuff after she moved in with me.

We're talking birth certificate, change of name deeds, all her A-Level work and photos. Nothing of real value - but generally stuff that can't be replaced and of huge sentimental and legal value.

What can we do? Criminal damage?

For all the legal magubbins (birth certificate etc), you could (probably) get her to pay for a replacement. Not sure about the rest though.

Go to the registrar of Births Deaths & marriages and she can pay something like £10 for a copy of her birth & medical certificates and so on.

She'd have to contact her local Educational authority for copies of her exam results.

For other more personal stuff she'd be pretty stuffed I think unless she takes her mum to the small claims court...
