Right just bought a book for 90 quid because it had vb.net with it. Got it home and the software is nowhere to be found.

I'm going to bring it back to the shop tomorrow, I was just wondering what my chances of getting anything are?

What was it, one of those little plastic sleeves glued to the inside cover or something? Maybe they were supposed to give you the software when you bought the book at the counter (to try and curb theft). If so, then it's their fault and they should a) give you your money back or b) give you the software or c) skip the country with your money before you can go back tomorrow. Depending on the shadyness of the bookshop, the latter might not happen.

cheers,

it was a microsoft publishing jobbie where the book and the software were in a box together. When I got it home what I thought was the s/w box was just a filler( triangular bit of cardboard). The only reason I'm worrying is that the plastic wrapping was torn. I was worrying that there's some sort of 'You should have checked that everything was in it before you left the store. :(

I'll know tonight.

If you paid by Visa, you maybe covered by their insurance. Not that sure what level the covers starts at though

They sold you a product. That product was not the same as the product advertised (i.e. no software)

You're entitled to a refund.

If someone nicked the CD in their shop, then that's the shop's fault for not having good enough security.
