Ok, well, we all know about the lag situation by now, but i think that something should be brought to light.

While RvR'ing today, experience (same old) MAJOR lag problems, that are just getting boring now, a small grp of us go out to take some unlaimed keeps (omg we pwn ) . Omg, get to the keep, normal "meet up with albs fps lag" fades with 2/3 seconds. Doors down, we're in, uhhh, ok, here is where it gets interesting. Zerg the keep lord!! Yeah baby, not very hard admittedly . Lag spike, boring, been coping with them for the past 2 days, stealther in a grp has a friend that plays Alb/Excal. Asks this friend if they have been experiencing any lag problems, Alb answers "No". Odd i think, all us hibs (and maybe even mids) have SERIOUS lag issues, while albs ... nothing ... they can move around without lag.

Can anyone explain this to me?

I'm not gonna argue with a person that does selective reading. I told you a fact that person said they had no lag. That is a FACT! I also told a FACT that the whole of hib has been getting lag. People asking on /as and the entirity of /as go spammed with YES, That is a FACT. By one person on alb saying they had no lag it is also a FACT that not all of alb is affected.

And lastly, i read the "off topic forum". No lag threads. A couple in RvR discussion - mainly from hibs/mids from what i could see. Again, these are FACTS. You maybe unlucky to get the lag, and therefore you are able to see what the rest of us are going through. But when i'm doing a keep take, and i lag for 10-15 seconds and find myself and 2 fg hibs lying dead to 1 grp of albs, anyone would be able to summerise that they aren't all feeling the same effect of the lag.

So you asked on /as if people were lagging at one time and they all said yes...

You then asked ONE alb who said no...

From this you drew the conclusion that ALL of hib has these lag problems but

while albs ... nothing ... they can move around without lag.

Ever heard of biased results? It is ALL realms of pryd/excal which are suffering from particular places in the world. That doesn't mean specific realms, it means while english BT may be suffering, the guy who lives in outer mongolia might well have no lag. This would apply for both hibernia, midgard AND albion.

I as well as several other albs have quit the game because of the lag, the only difference is that albs don't seem to post as much on the forums for some reason (I'm just waiting for my account to run out before posting...damn autorenew )

An interesting observation, but if mythic think GoA are doing a bad job, then why give them the contract and License to host the Italian and Spainsh servers?

Just goes to show how greedy Mythic are for wanting peoples money

i know they know for a fact

contract or licence may include taking over/providing for other euro countrys (makes sense)and if the contract/licence is for ie 10 years mythic have no reason to step in and do anything and this time the lag is nothing to do with GoA its OT ( yes i know they are owned by the same company)

and people need to lighten up on the GM's who come and post here if they stop then we only have the friday news and that sucks at the best of times

best thing is post your pings too GoA if everybody does it then goa will act quicker as i bet several 1000 rightnows with attachments must get annoying after a while

( Opentransit Problems )

Opentransit with the ping plotter information gathered from daoc players is currently at the moment trying to fix the problems with the lag and ld outside of France.

And as a result of this and with many,many players expirencing terrible lag and constant ld's over this weekend especially everyone will be credited with 2 free days for the inconvience caused,even tho this is not our fault at goa we feel obligated to refund our loyal players with a reasonable amount of time. This lag may continue for several more days as they continue to attempt to sort out the lag issues outside of France.All we ask for is your patience and we hope they can resolve these issues as soon as possible.

Most of us know that its not your fault for the lag but as you provide us the servers to play daoc who else can we talk to ?

And giving people a free day or 2 here or there after playing daoc for nearly 3 years isnt exactly the end of the world.

I dont mean to be sound funny or try to preach at any of u at goa but comeon how long would it take for you to post something/anything on your website ?

Requiel has posted on more than one occasion that they're bugging opentransit into getting their finger out their arses and to do something about it. If they have some more info on the matter im sure they'll post it. Theres no point leaving a message every day saying '' they're still looking into it'' until theres some actual news to share.

The first thing you learn in the military is "need to know" and "no information will be given unless its necessary". GOA have told you all the story so far, what more is there to tell? Nothing.

Yes the lag is grim, but GOA are doing their part to resolve it, and have given more than enough info out.

If i don't see a plan on what they are doing to defeat this evil lag spikes im going to cancel the accounts when i get home from work. I want information on what GoA or Opentransit are doing to correct this. I want some kind of timetable on WHEN it's going to be fixed. What i heard so far (friday news for instance) it looks to me that Goa isn't takeing this seriously, "some lag", ye right this isn't "some lag" this is "huge lag". Only way for me to show that I think it's serious is to cancel the accounts.

I had some lag problems this past month but nothing can be compared to this weekend. Suddenly the game was totally unplayable, although i tried to play some but eventually all my friends logged and so did I.

I will reactivate the accounts when the lag is gone.

The grass WILL always be greener in hib and that's a fact.

I musta been imagining the 20s lag spikes at da behn tower yesterday...

note that "computer freezing when enemy approaches" lag is down to your computer not being able to handle/render all the info quite so fast (tone down the gfx options) - NF is quite processor intensive. Not all lag is network/OT based.

Amen to that. Everyone SHOULD be whining, bitchin and complaining about it. Whining does work. If people kept quiet about issues we will just be inviting GOA to bend us over a desk and give us a good 'spanking' (edited for cleanliness). Please keep these threads coming. Even better people should be cancelling their subscriptions. I have cancelled two accounts today and will not renew them untill I hear the lag situation has improved. If you want the situation to improve please cancel your accounts maybe when they start losing (even more) customers it will trigger them into doing something.
