Currently I am a DPO (Dynamic Positioning Operator). I basically watch the computers that tell the thrusters where to point and how much force to apply to keep the rig over a certain point on the sea bed 1115 m below us.
On my way to this illustrious job, I was a Roustabout,(labourer on an Oil Rig), Watchstander (ballast control, mooring, record keeping), Assisstant Barge Engineer (boss of Watchstanders and Roustabouts) and sometime stand in Barge Engineer (secondish, depending on circumstances, in command of the Rig)

Current job title I inherited from my predecessor

IT operations manager.

Will probably change it at some point, probably to Network Manager as I don't actually manage any people at the moment.

Best job title ever was Chatline Monitor when I worked in the premium phone number business. 8 pounds an hour working nights watching porn (1) and listening to people have bad phone sex. Was a barrel of laughs. Also got to operate the night vision security cameras and had great fun training the laser sights on people in back alleys taking drugs, having a piss or a quick fumble!

1 - was part of the official job... we had to keep an eye on the adverts we were putting out.

Meh 9 to 5 is "Administrative Assistant" or "Network Manager" depending to whom I'm speaking. "Dogsbody" to everyone else.

Otherwise, i'm Managing Consultant at the weekends. I'm also then called Sandra :D

I don't rightly know what it means tbh, and the name tends to change every 6 months or so.

I used to be an Assistant Technical Specialist at my county's council.

Pay was low but the reigns were pretty loose. If it wasnt such as easy life most said they wouldnt stay there for the wage they got.
