The original plan was to wipe the Palestinians off the map.

Then Jewish Israelis move in and settle the quality beach front property.

It's openly discussed at the highest level of government. They were just waiting (and provoking) for an excuse.

Zionism is not compatible with human rights for non-Jews. Everyone else is a lesser animal.

Don't get me wrong. Islam is the same. But our taxes and political capital and our weapons aren't being spent propping up the Palestinians are they.

I don't think this is fair.

Ideologies change from the country-less persecuted religious minority in Europe to a bastion of 'Westernism' in the West, I think many Israelis would consider Zionism to be pretty much done.

What's left hasn't got much to do with religion, it's just the original division that created perpetual warfare since the creation of Israel which has understandably put them in a bunker mentality - much like the Palestinians, hence the support for militants.

Ultimately I think the international community are the ones to blame, for not stepping in sooner to help create a solution and not putting pressure on primarily the US to giving them a free pass on genocide.

I dislike what they said because, besides being stupid, it had the effect of assorted politicians and rabbis rushing to fall over themselves to tell us about it being hate speech. The country targeted by said hate speech has/continues to commit genocide by dropping vast amounts of bombs on Gaza, killing civilians, aid workers and ironically hostages alike, followed up by a starvation plan along with finding multiple ways and reasons to shoot Palestinians.

Corbyn pushed back on the IHRA (i.e. Israeli-sponsored) "definition" of antisemitism that would define it as exactly that.

That's why all areas of our press - especially the guardian etc. - absolutely trashed his possibility of ever getting elected.

I think this is the problem though.

I know you want to tick it off as Labour being nazis, but I feel like it's more they're forcing themselves to overreact to stuff that goes near anti semitism because of the recent history of both major parties.

They're pandering to right wing media because they're fully aware that's the demographic that they're going to have to fight for at the next election.

Fully disagree here @Gwadien old bean - the Terrorism legislation, the hate-speech idiocy that sees us arresting 12,000+ people a year for what they say (weaponised by what people can find on people that they 'once said' in 2013) - when we've got prisons fit to burst. That was all legislation brought in under the Blair Labour government.

This isn't new stuff. This is stuff that's been decades in the making. I'ts not recent history that's driving anything at all here.

Starmer is doing exactly what I feared he'd do - weaponise the old legislation at a far faster and more aggressive rate than that Tories ever did (they were neutered when Cameron came in and had no ideas of their own). And top that - Starmer's not an honest actor - he's a confessed zionist. His wife is Jewish, his kids are being brought up Jews - which in and of itself is a nothingburger, but they're rabid zionists. It matters not if the UK public clearly doesn't want us arming Israel and assisting them in what is very clearly genocide - we've a Prime Minister who is setting the policy, backed by an incredibly powerful pro-Israel lobby that very effectively accuses 'dissenters' of antisemitism - and he gets to give no shit if Israel is a murderous terrorist state. Even though his job is to represent the clear wishes of the public.

Tories are the authoritarian right? Yep, to a point.

Labour have a far, far far more authoritarian mindset. The left always did - history proves it. Well meaning? Yep. But misguided, authoritarian wankers. Add to that a genuine wanker of a leader - one who is "abusing" legislation to crack down on the public at a rate I thought I'd never see.

It's not just this @Gwadien. It's other stuff too (that you also apologised for and/or dismissed). This Labour government is shockingly bad.

Just been watching the news and the images of starving children in Gaza, kind of reminds me of Nazis persecuting the Jews but now the Jews are the Nazis.
