Ok i after 4-5 years of working in a local pub/general store i have become unemployed and i find out even though people just out of school at 18 are entitled to the full social welfare payment 197 euros im only entitled to 153.50 , and im kinda bummed :(

Lets put things into perspective , to bail out 1 bank the Anglo Irish bank known to us paddies as the ACC bank the irish government has paid 34 Billion yes thats 34,000,000,000 euros from which it expects to take more losses before winding it down , 85% of this is from 120 property developers , germany after ww2 was ordered to pay a 60bn fund to pay back the damage it did to europe which it finished paying back just recently , did the iraq war cost 34bn maybe so but not much more , hmm im too drunk to continue so ill summerise

Im bummed , oh well sound technician course here i come :twak:

It could be the best thing that ever happened to you. I got made redundant a few years ago from a job I didn't like in a career I didn't like. Now I am happy with my work life in a new career in a new company.

the biggest kick in the teeth is that even though irelands economy is up shit creek, even though ireland cut and cut and cut to avoid IMF help, they now have to pay for Greek aid, because the greeks whined like little girls and now they get their hand out :(

Ace, good luck with it, I hope it goes well :)

Sound engineering can get very complicated, I guess it depends on the level to which you take it. Any particular end-goal when you complete the course or just generally interested in it?

Just playing it by year atm , im a quick learner generally and i work really well with people so it should be no problem , the fun is always the journey i find not the destination , its focusing on the latter that causes people to get too caught up in things that don't matter longterm and thats what holds the average joe back :)
