until two days ago I was found almost nightly on prydwen, however the patching fiasco has prevented any gaming recently...


i was online for 25 minutes earlier starting my new alt however I was greeted with the disconnection message (servers being taken offline) and as any customer would be expected to went straight to the GOA site for an explanation... of which there was none


the last place I expect GOA to place such announcements is Barrysworld... BW isn't listed in the game manual as being a place for such announcements so how many customers are in the dark, unaware as to where to look for news?

the simple fact of the matter is that the goa forums at the very least should be online...

The Tomte wouldn't be able to move 2 steps inside the servers’ chamber, not with the 6 trolls with 2hd Hammers here. :cool:


Why i posted here and why I’m not using our website/forums. Answer is simple, we had to shutdown everything (forums, websites, patchers, servers, whatever). BW looked (and is) like the best place to keep you guys informed in this situation. I have a moderator status here and i read this forum quite often even if I don't post (most communication is done via our forums).

Now, why I’m not telling you what exactly happened? Well, I’m actually enchained (doing this post using my psi powers) & gagged outside the admin room because I was asking this about every 5 seconds. Now I’m letting the guys do their job, and once they are done, I’ll know. And when I’ll know, you'll know...

In any case, we won't re-open anything before tomorrow...

i'm sure there is something to report by this time, either they've isolated the problem or they haven't...

either they're going to crack it tonight or they aren't...

I don't think people are asking for it to be fixed in the blink of an eye (if anything GOA have proven this to be something they simply aren't capable of) however what they do want is just a few straight answers and a little up to date information... kemor made his original post four hours ago - since that point he hasn't told us anything...

don't you think that's a little out of order? I mean if they've packed up for the night couldn't they have the courtesy to come online and say? if they're working on and the end is in sight then likewise they need to enlighten their customers...

I think everyone would react more positively to this situation if they weren't kept in the dark, we're not mushrooms y'know...

All i have to say to that Summo is ROFL.

Btw summo I have now got a damn good char on Excal Hibbieland, it might look like dysney land but the chars are gr8, I have a lvl 11 Druid (main healer bloke there btw) who gets a cool pet. Great for grouping or solo work, I can take an orange con as long as it dont aggro me too early or yellows easily. I have to say I'm really enjoying the healer role and I might start 1 on mid soon too :D

2 days without DAoC now. Yesterday I managed to get the patch then my damn CPU fan went tits up, fixed it today and got about 15 mins of 1.45

/edit question already answered thx Kemor and get those IT fellas working a little quicker ;)

Holy maloney! I didn't realise this many people existed. Hello all.

I feel like starting a camp fire and... YES! and singing songs, telling ghost stories and generally being all 'buddy' in the face of adversity.

thanks mate, that's all we ask - those that were waiting up in hope of their daily fix can now goto bed... nn 2 them all...

it seems to me like there has to be a better way to handle such things in the future... maybe a point for future thought and discussion...
