What a bunch of moaning gits. I agree that not being able to play is annoying and I agree that not being able to play when you are paying is equally annoying.

But, if you pay the 6 month fee, not being able to pay is taking around 32p (if pence is your thang) out of your pocket.

You are honestly telling me that some of you are slagging off a company that has manged to run loads of different language game servers for a number of weeks with only minor problems here and there. Then managed to get 9 patches rolled into one and onto the servers with only 2, count them thats 1 ... 2, bugs slipping through.

Come on, cut the guys some slack. They now have a possiblity of working over Easter, never nice.

Have an early night, read a book, watch a film. DAoC will be here tommorrow and all this will be forgotten.

the point is, being responsible for a high-level enterprise hosting and application environment myself, I know that the only way to guarantee success with any rollout is to follow very simple principles... the more complex the system (and the higher the chance for bugs to be overlooked) the larger the testing regieme that should be employed...

if you double the complexity of an isolated system your testing should be tenfold as rigorous... if that 'step' is to large or will take too long break the rollout down into stages, as per the original patches...

in a half hearted attempt to deliver 'the' patch before d-day on subscriptions they've totally shot themselves in the foot here... our forums are not the place to communicate directly to the customer - they have their own website for that...

even if there are code dependancies between the website and game servers such 'active code' can be commented out... people are justified to be miffed because GOA seldom keep their customers properly updated as to the goings-on with the servers and on this occasion they've closed all the windows and doors and for all we know are sitting in a circle with their hands covering their eyes and ears...

it isn't much to ask for goa to put their site up and give updates via the correct platform...

they're only down because GOA took them offline...

they are addressing unsolved issues from the patch, not having infrastructure problems...

bugs don't send a 'please disconnect from the game the servers will be going offline in 5 minutes' message, nor do router failures or a flaky webserver...

goa have had several emails, along with the rightnow bug reports and other issues - I've yet to receive a competent and accurate reply from any of them...

my theory of goa like there in game support (lack of) right now they dont work weekends they dont do bank holidays they dont work over 5pm so they can get back home for din dins

the message says un-available tonight if you try start it, if they are workin on it now at 12 midnight it should say un-available this morning, if it dont change we know they pissed off home.

seeing as they're in france it's 1am already

if they are planning on fixing it I personally hope noone has thought to change the message and they are getting on with more useful things (i.e. fixing the goddamn bugs!!)

I'd rather they were working on fixing the problem, than worrying as to wether their messages say tonight or this morning.
